The question is the focus frame, not the active track.
Aah, now I understand. I glossed over that part.

I don't see this easily work out because Live seems to keep the active ('currently selected') track separate from the focus frame somehow, they're definitely not being synced like this.

Re: Noob Question- Decay

In step 1 it mentions 'compressed 909 type kick with a prominent pitch envelope'. Could someone please explain to me what a prominent pitch envelope is? I think you should be asking them about that, not us ;) Do you know what an envelope is? If not then I would start there instead of trying to lear...

Re: Press play on drum rack

Just play the matching note on your (midi) keyboard. If you want to do this using your computer keyboard then enable the keyboard mode (see keyboard icon in upper right corner), after that you can use asd... to play notes, which will also trigger drumrack pads.

Re: Sync Focus Between APC40 and Push 1

I can obviously move the active focus frame around on either device independently, but I'd like to sync up the active tracks between the two controllers. I don't understand your problem because both controllers will always follow suit. If you switch the active track on the APC then the Push will fo...

Re: ASIO vs. MME/Direct X

For starters: ASIO doesn't share control but dedicates it to itself. That can already significantly boost things.

Re: Ableton Push 3 update

In addition to the above... So what if Push 3 came out? It wouldn't invalidate your Push 2 in any way and well... Yes, I am biased but I can honestly say that Push 2 is an amazing device for those who want to get the most out of Live. Not perfect! Heck no, it has its quirks here and there but at the...

Re: push 2 scales bug

Apologies but that made no sense to me what so ever. What "big template" are you talking about here? This is most certainly not standard behavior. (edit) It sounds to me as if you changed stuff in Live (loaded in another MIDI remote script perhaps?) and are now blaming Push. Which would make this th...

Re: Solo Function Disappears with Surround Panner

I'm not going into the (IMO solid) arguments because my stance has been, from the very getgo of M4l, not to use any 3rd party stuff but to make my own if needed. An opinion which in my reasoning only got validated after I took a closer look at some of the "official" patches. Plenty are good, but at ...

Re: ASIO driver causes conflict with Windows Media Player

It's not a bug but a feature. Most ASIO instances rely on exclusive control over the audio interfaces. Ergo: as long as Live is active it's not very surprising that other programs no longer work. My suggestion therefor would be to get a 2nd external audio device. Even an "el cheapo" Sweex (which I a...

Re: Max For Live Core Library LFO "Serious Program Error" crash

My first suggestion would be to upgrade to the latest Live, 10.1.4. Also because there have been quite a few bug fixes implemented in the meantime. Yes, I checked today, and I am already on the latest build. Still have the issue. So, are you using the embedded M4l engine or did you point Live to a ...

My advice would be not to rely on automation. Slice that up manually, load up your samples into Simpler or Sampler and then go wild!

Re: Connect multiple Drum rack outputs to a single instrument or MIDI track

What makes you think you're using 4 times the RAM? Software is usually a lot smarter than that. Live 10 Suite, just started, uses up 337Mb on my end. No Push, no nothing. Then I load Kontakt and from there I load one of my favorite instruments: the Sitar! (from the 'India' series, this thing is awes...

Re: Komplete 12 External Hard Drive

thanks for replies- I decided on a Samsung EVO 970. The question now- should I leave the OS on the original HDD and put Ableton and Komplete on the SSD? I would definitely leave your OS alone, why make this more difficult for yourselves, eh? ;) How big is your original SSD anyway? See, you could al...

Re: Upgrading to Suite or getting different gear

May I ask you how is your workflow Maschine-Ableton. Do you use is as a VST in Ableton (Is it a 'clean' process - I have seen plenty of comments from people having problem in this area) or you work on Maschine away from Ableton and, next, export patterns in .wav to use in Ableton, This might not be...
