Hi everyone, hope I'm not breaking rules by advertising this here... I've just launched my private tuition website. If you're interested all the details are here:

There are some free Ableton tutorials in the videos section too.

Thanks

Re: MIDI mapping curve options?

Hey TST,

I'm looking to do something similar with EQs and have experienced the 'power dips' you're talking about.

Did you ever find a solution?

ah cool... i worked out a way to do it. i used a MIDI effects rack nested inside an instrument rack, with a single instance of sampler.

so would i have to have an instance of sampler in every chain as well then? that would mean 12 copies of sampler.

or is there a way of feeding the MIDI offset into a new chain with just one sampler?

nice. that's the sort of stuff i'm looking for.

this solution would be great....but i need to access 12 banks and i guess i'm limited to 8 different MIDI offsets because of the number of macros?

Instrument Rack Experts:

You may be able to help. My simple instrument rack consists of a MIDI pitch plug in followed by a Sampler. The instrument is to be played by a 16-pad trigger finger and the MIDI pitch plug in is there to allow selection of different key zones on the sampler so the complete range can be played by the...

how about having the option of different playlists for each track a la protools?

in PT it's used as a way of storing different takes on one track, but in live maybe it could be randomised, or have follow actions or depend on what another track is playing...

selectlocators and deactive clip key command

i would like to be able to select position locators so they can be cut/copied/pasted like anything else.

i would also like to have a ctrl-'something' key command for deactive clip. that would be a real time saver when managing large arrangements.

thanks,

al

i am, of course, referring to 'locators' and not warp markers here.

just realised that live doesn't call them markers like in pro tools.

any thoughts?

copying and pasting markers in Live 6

is there any way to copy and paste markers in Live 6. Select all won't select them. so if i want to duplicate an arrangement i have to manually go through and create the markers again.

Any way round this?

Thanks,

Al

great track man. love all the subtle little fills and stutters on the breaks here and there. definitely got an early leftfield dub influence going on there in the first half. perhaps some of the synth filters are a touch too extreme/energetic for me.

how long did this take?
