That's probably because music is not meant to be formulaic. There is no right/wrong for that sound.

Try outlining notes from the chord you are using. Try some jazz theory here-- 7th chords, 9th chords, 13ths, etc, will sound great through a pad, and give you a nice pallette of notes to make a b ...

I'm pretty sure he's still rocking reason. Try using the synths in there, and following the advice above. I'd be happy to give you more specifics, but my work comp. blocks web videos, so I can't see which bass sound in specific you're talking about

I have flirted with the idea of buying sampler on an off for years, and have tested it's ability to import exs and .nki files, since this is mainly why I'd buy it.

From what I remember, it does a great job with .nki's and a pretty decent job with exs.

I feel kinda stupid making the effort to make and share my rack, make a demo and upload everything and getting no response at all... :(

A Juno on it's own won't get that type of sound. It's defo some engineering trickery to get that tone. My guess is a regular sawtooth bass patch + saw with Ring mod/freq shifter & Boost & Highpassed. Both then grouped through a phaser. Or something like that

Is it possible that the pitch of your bass patch is assigned to velocity?

were you playing with the pitch bend wheel on a midi controller while the clip was playing? If so, you may have unknowingly recorded some automation information that you need to erase.

^ as said above, this guitar actually seems pretty good. At first glance, it looks like a bad Guitar Hero controller, but on further inspection, it's a fully functional MIDI guitar with NO LATENCY, and only costs $179. Total deal, IMO.

Yeah, I've purchased Vortex, and it is amazing. And really, just replace the internal samples with your own, and the cliche-ness of the presets disappears. I'm waiting on Colorflex for now, but it looks promising as well. IMO, Vortex is WELL worth it...
