Re: What makes a succesful Live User Group?
I like the idea of being a genre gnostic, but I wouldn't want to shut down a person every time they said "this is how I created this dub sound" or "I made this for a house track" ,etc. My thinking is that the organisers should be genre-free or inclusive, but let the attendees say...

Re: Exclude certain tracks from Scene Launch
+++1 This would be great, as I spend time setting up clips in scenes below/above the Launch line. I want to set the bpm/signature with Scene Launch, but not use every Track from the get-go. This would be cool.

[quote=" But when I'm done being all snarky :) I'll concede that you and xris may have a point, since a digital cable that's not up to the task could theoretically cause dropouts. I don't suspect that's my problem, but I guess I have to acknowledge that it's a potential problem.[/quote] It woul...

Have you ever tried a new, really nice USB cable? Seriously. Many of these issue might be traced to a cheap, or even mid-range cable. Ean at djtechtools.com sells one that you might want to try. Link- http://techtools.myshopify.com/products ... usb-cables

Re: APC40: can I launch clip and send MIDI with one button?
All of the buttons or just the one? Do the lights go out entirely? I am asking because I would like to understand how Ableton is approaching their MIDI programming with controllers, the APC and others. Frustrating, no? The lights go out because Ableton sends a MIDI message out after a clip has playe...

Re: APC40: can I launch clip and send MIDI with one button?
Does the APC send midi messages? If it does, just press the MIDI mapping button (top right), mouse-click the things you want to control/launch, and press the APC button. The same MIDI message can be mapped to two or more items. The fact that one is in the session view and the other in the arrangemen...

MIDI settings, change?
Can the midi messages that Ableton sends to a controller be changed?
The clip settings make the LED on my BCR2000 shut off after one rotation of a loop (I assume it is because the MIDI note drops below 64). I need to keep the lights on.
Any one know what can be done?
Thanks a bunch,
Xris

Re: Syncing lights on the Behringer BCR2000?
Tried changing the velocity settings. There are definite built in parameters within Ableton, but I am not sure what they. Even when the switch is set to "toggle on" the light still goes out after one generation of the clip/loop. I tried the loop set on different modes too, but this didn't ...

Re: APPLE IS THE GREATEST COMPANY EVER.
I use Apple, but be realistic. How many people are in the type of positions that actually afford the kind of creative muscle stretching mentioned? No organization as large as Apple has that many people doing this kind of work. Apple is a cool company, but a good company is another matter. Besides, i...

Re: Does Ableton Live look blurry to you?
It could be that Ableton uses a typeface that is not really designed for on-screen viewing, Helvetica. The typeface is anti-aliasing because it is not a pure bitmap, and that is why you get the blurr. There is an interpolation of gray pixels. If you look at the actual Ableton elements, like their ic...

Re: Syncing lights on the Behringer BCR2000?
Thanks, I will take a look at this before I try anything else. I have the toggle modes set to "off", so the switch is acting like a single-hit button rather than a light-switch. This works great, so that I am not pushing to start, pushing again to reset, then pushing to start once more. Th...

Syncing lights on the Behringer BCR2000?
Just got the BCR2000 and it is really great. Easily syncs with Ableton. Here is my question: I have set a switch to launch clips in a channel. This works great and initially the light on the switch comes on when the clip begins. However, after the first generation of the clip the light goes out, alt...

Re: Metronome timing with the actual bars of music?
Where is the time signature listed in the Clip View? I see Length but not the TS. Can I change the TS in the Clip View after the clip was created?
Thanks for the reply.
