Re: velocity range...automatically?
Do you want a ramp up? You can hold Ctrl/Cmd and clickdrag in the velocity part of the clip window to create a linear ramp-up like a drumroll You could also try using the Velocity plugin to set a fixed velocity and automating that Yes I want to ramp up....exactly that. so I click cmd (mac) and sele...

velocity range...automatically?
Let's say I have a snare drum roll, machine gun style, that spans 4 bars. I am wondering is there a way to select the 4 bars and tell Live that the range will be for velocity 10-127 and spread it equally among the 4 bars so that the velocity increases? I have seen this in Logic and Cubase, but I can...

Re: Nice tight snare drum roll
the classic drum roll is a tr-909 I got that sample with several others. I tried to program a snare roll by doing the roll via the Piano Roll, choosing a high resolution on the grid and drawing in a succession of notes for the snare. It did not come out so nice and I tried several varations and eac...

Nice tight snare drum roll
Well it doesn't necessarily have to be with a snare but..... What do you guys recommend as the best approach to creating a nice drum roll saying allowing you to go into the next build or simply to introduce or end a section. I am getting tired of the pre-made loops and want to just make my own. Any ...

Re: Audio to Midi?
Isn't that what "Slice to MIDI does" in Live? i'm thinking he means if he has a audio clip playing a melody or some chord, he wants Ableton to spit out the midi of the meldoy or chord.. ala melodyne.. if that's the case, I don't know of anyway within Live outside using external plugs or m...

Re: Sonic Academy Turtorial question
it was free, just wondering if anyone has used sonic academy before, and what was their feedback on it. It was the most in depth turtorial i found Yeah I have used it and it is great to learn the basics of Live as well as the genre's and see how people go about it. But at the end it is up to you an...

Re: Who is 3phase?
I constantly see people complaining about posts by 3phase or 3phase himself. Now, once and for all: who is 3phase and why is he supposed to be such a pain in the a***? He claims he is some big time DJ, but I for one have not heard his stuff, though I would like to. I think the way he comes across o...

The book is more of a general overview...what is the point of the live tutorials if you don't know about the basics first right?Rave wrote:Follow the tutorials first before you decide if u need a book. IMO

Re: new in music production, need advice of how to start
Good day everybody, I wanted to create music for a while but is until now that I have time to start for good. Although the only thing that I know about music is pretty much that I love music, I would like to learn everything possible. My goal is to be a producer of music using sampling. Please, cou...

Re: Play It Loud - tech house attempt, Seb Leger styleee -ish
I do like the Kick you have used. Sounds really full and deep. The breakdown is OK. Something about the track is lacking. Something where it will pop out at you and really get your attention. Perhaps a transition to pick up the pace? Just my two cents. But great job nonetheless. It's always hard to ...

Re: New upbeat house ditty
I listened to it 3 times.
First time - WTF???
Second time - started to disect it a little further and then...hmmm...interesting and cool.
Third time - Have to admit it's catchy and it got stuck with me!
Not sure if I would call it house though.

I have an Impulse on Midi 1, and I have 8 audio tracks. I map each Impulse cell to its own audio track by selecting audio from - Impulse, then selecting the impulse cell I want in that particular track. Doing this for all 8 is ridiculous. I know in Pro Tools if you highlight a few bus tracks, hold ...
