Corpus stops producing sound when the buffer size is set to a high value (greater than 1024). This is a known issue that is fixed in the current 11.2 beta. I just upgraded from v9 - the same thing in v10 for me, endless indexing activity icon, v9 had no such issue (spinning was always about 15-20 seconds).
