I don't think it's fair to compare Ableton to "other" "daws"....... For most, it comes down to workflow. It may be that Live does just not suit your workflow which is fine. I actually use Sonar and Rewire Ableton Live as a slave. But only sometimes. For someone working by themsel...

I'll try removing the stop button, if I can.
I ended up running Live as a rewire slave, and recorded vocals in a host DAW.
That may be my work flow, as I notice artifacts when I record live acoustic audio with Live. But not my other DAW.

can I merge two scenes?
I have a line that overlaps two scenes. So if I record my clip in the scene, the end get's cut.
How do I approach this in session view? Or am I stuck recording in Arrangement view?

my vocals, chorus, start on one scene but end on another. How do I record this? Without merging the two together into one scene?

My drum rack, altering midi velocities has no effect
I have created a drum rack. In the midi editor, I can alter all the midi notes, but when I change the velocities, it does not change them. Very frustrating. It works fine with all my other clips.
