Re: Single MIDI track to multiple tracks?
So essentially you need to convert one midi track with all the tracks into several discrete tracks? What you need is a program that can convert the midi type from MIDI type 0 to MIDI Type 1 ( i may have that backwards. http://www.jsresources.org/examples/MidiConverter.html heya darkcatt, Sort of. J...

Single MIDI track to multiple tracks?
I have read that this was done in Cakewalk years ago via an integrated plug-in called "CAL?" It basically separated different instruments from a single MIDI source into several tracks within the DAW. Has anyone tried this with Ableton? Did I miss this part in the Ableton Live manual, if it...

Re: Uh oh! Another rock band recording with Ableton!!!!
like cezband first said, i agree the guitars and drums sound great and clean, and i thought you did a nice job on the vocals too, as my vocal recordings in the past with live haven't turned out so well But i was wondering if you plug the guitar in with firewire or something or you just record in th...

Re: Uh oh! Another rock band recording with Ableton!!!!
I agree with the comments above and am not qualified to be considered an expert, but I do have this question, based on what I'm learning: Re. the "hot" tracks. The mastering engineer needs more headroom to do his thing. So, are you applying the things he/she normally would (I know you sai...

I think am has answered the stuff you asked me better than I could :) When it comes to mixing ready for mastering, I found Tarekith's tutorials invaluable. The guy is some sort of wizard or something. Check this out: http://tarekith.com/assets/mixdowns.html Once I actually get together a set of son...

Re: Uh oh! Another rock band recording with Ableton!!!!
heya, some thoughts/comments... I'm always a sucker for a good pop hook, so well done on that. I think when doing the pop-rock thing, you've really got to find that perfect vocal take. I'd suggest that it's about 75% there at the moment.... some cool little vocal personality bits in there, which ar...

Re: Uh oh! Another rock band recording with Ableton!!!!
Feedback tends to be the exception rather than the rule in "link your music" - it's one of the least visited forums here. I can see that you've commented on a bunch of tracks though, so I felt duty-bound to give your tune a listen! :) First I'll get it right out the way that I hate your g...

Hey Mal! Here is my only soundcloud post so far. Rock is my primary focus in music, but I have previous experience with drum n bass, trance, and trip hop. Thanks for taking the time to listen if you do. http://soundcloud.com/thepurity/the-purity-b-side-girl none of the instruments in this song were ...

Re: Our most original song. Electronica/electro/rock
psychohagis, Great song overall. I'm not a big fan of autotune. Am I correct that it was used on this track? I like the drums arrangement a lot. It flows well with the melody. Good accents between the beats and the vocals too. Are the highs bleeding out too much on the drums? Could be my headphones....

Re: Maloku -Mystique
Mal, Listened to this last night in my studio on my dt-770s, and the bass line came out really clear. I loved the arrangement much more after hearing that portion more clearly. Well done. Can't wait to hear any additions you make here. Especially if you decide to push the envelope and add melodies, ...

Beautiful 2 is my favorite from the main page. I have yet to go through the others. There is a lot of original stuff in there danny. A lot of which sets it up above other cuts in those genres. Great job. Looking forward to listening to the other tracks.

Re: My first composition in Ableton Live Lite 8
ok, thanks folks, remember it's only the first time in my life that I use Ableton... and I didn't have any instrument expansion packs installed. the percussion part is at a constant volume, it's quite basic and constant, a variation of the beats starts when the guitar kicks in and the 'drowning out...
