In terms of selecting different devices, I am not aware of a simple fix to use features on the controller to switch between devices.

Gen 2: Shift/Patch up/Patch down = Select next or previous device..
So Shift would be the button marked 1 under the LCD?

Assuming you are talking about the 2nd generation of both controllers (49 key version) the most important difference are that the Axiom has:

Assignable aftertouch
Zones for splitting and stacking sounds on up to 4 MIDI channels
An extra assignable pedal/switch input

DPC will also report conflicts with your video card. If you are running a desk top then look into either adjusting the Hardware Acceleration option in the settings tab of the Display Properties in your graphics card settings or actually swapping out the card for another one. The first option has ...
