Re: M-Audio Oxygen-49 is Teh Shizz Yo !!!!!!1!!11!!one
In terms of selecting different devices, I am not aware of a simple fix to use features on the controller to switch between devices. Gen 2: Shift/Patch up/Patch down = Select next or previous device.. So Shift would be the button marked 1 under the LCD? Also, do you know if the encoders on the Axio...

Re: M-Audio Oxygen-49 is Teh Shizz Yo !!!!!!1!!11!!one
EDIT: Basically I'm buying the 49 because I wanted something versatile, it has 8 knobs which works out perfectly with device racks. What I wasn't sure about is if those 8 knobs could control more than one device rack depending on which one is selected, and also if it's possible to select different ...

Re: M Audio Axiom 49 or Oxygen 49?
Assuming you are talking about the 2nd generation of both controllers (49 key version) the most important difference are that the Axiom has: Assignable aftertouch Zones for splitting and stacking sounds on up to 4 MIDI channels An extra assignable pedal/switch input Standard 5 pin MIDI connecters (a...

Re: Why did you choose a Mac/OSX?
Running a mac has been by far the most cost effective computer option I have ever owned. Sure I paid more for less, but I have not had 1 single minute of non billable downtime in 18 months in macland. I have an Intel Q6600 PC I built as a music machine but I gave to my kids because it was simply a f...

Re: Keyboard expression
There are products, from M-Audio's product line, more advanced than Axiom. Not venturing into digital piano land, only the Axiom pro has a wider range of velocity settings. Essentially there are 12 (not counting the 'Fixed' option that allows you to assign the keys velocity to a slider or knob to g...

Re: Keyboard expression
I have a 1st gen M-Audio Axiom. It has 4 velocity levels. It is pretty poor for piano expression. Have to do a lot of post midi velocity editing.

Managing your Production Computer
Hi. I have spent the last couple of years learning about audio recording and basic MIDI stuff in a DIY manner. This has taken me from an old P4 XP laptop to a Quad core XP Pro desk top to a Macbook. I also started on Live 6LE & 7LE, then onto Intro and now full 8.1.4. I have Logic Express 8 and spen...

Re: so...DPC latency then. Anyone know much about this ?
DPC will also report conflicts with your video card. If you are running a desk top then look into either adjusting the Hardware Acceleration option in the settings tab of the Display Properties in your graphics card settings or actually swapping out the card for another one. The first option has wor...
