Feels a bit like a product launch from Apple... More like a typical product launch from Ableton/Akai where it takes at least half a year to over a year from announcement to actual launch. If it was like a product launch from Apple, the Push would have been released when it was announced. Good point!

I'm refering to the price for a non-boxed Suite 8 (download) upgrade to Suite 9 with Push, which is USD798 in my case. If I just upgrade to Suite 9 and buy Push from a local music store the price will be approx. USD200 more for me.

I asked Ableton support about VAT and shipping on Push, and the response I got was that shipping is free with the quoted price, and it includes national VAT. For me, at least, it's going to be cheaper to order it directly from Ableton.

If you have recorded something and are watching the waveform, you can't drag any effects into the channel. I would guess you have the audio or midi editor open. Double click on track (click on the track name, not inside the clip) to get into the effects.

Are you sure the trackpad on the PC (Windows based I guess) supports multi touch and gestures? This is a Mac only feature, I think...

A bit off topic.. I certainly hope that Apple keeps building the MacBooks pro like they have in the past, making it possible for the owner to do repairs and upgrades to the hardware. I guess it depends on how big a success the retina version is.
