Re: Live 9 is slooooooooow.
+1 Yep. Same session. Saved in Live 8. Running in Live 8, and I'm able add, remove and move tracks quickly. Even with heavy plugins running (Omnisphere in a rack is always a tough one for this), is quite a bit faster and snappier than the latest stable of live 9.1 and the latest beta. More so on th...

Re: why you cant drag aux sends from one session to another?
You can drag single tracks from old song files, but not aux sends! and you cant save FX chains to re-import them. what method do you suggest for having FX chains on auxes which can then be brought into new live sessions just as re-cycling an old instrument channel or audio track? thanks I'd just se...

Re: Still no windows HiDPI support months after 'retina' support
I like FL Studio's answer to the HiDPI issue: Rewrite the entire interface using vector based graphics. Genius. Definitely. They're killing it on that front. The new mixer is really cool! The thing with Live is that it's already vector based, and you can get it looking sharp in windows when you run...

Indeed. I'm fine with being patient, as long as I can plan around it. Business, and all that, other young padawan.pencilrocket wrote:quite a few DAW have begun to support 4k. So every software will do eventually... Patience you must have young padawan.

Re: macbook pro 13" (2015) and audio-production?!
One thing to keep in mind with the 13 and 15 inch rMBP without discrete graphics is the Iris integrate graphics are going to use Between 1-2 gigs of your system RAM (dynamically). So 8 gigs in a 13 inch retina is actually less than that.

Re: Still no windows HiDPI support months after 'retina' support
Marketing. Apple has been blasting us with “retina!” for a long time now which gives off the impression all Mac users are on retina or about to be. Windows users, not so much. The screen resolution mention is just another bullet point in the gobbledygook spec barrage. Toss in Windows users reputati...

Re: Still no windows HiDPI support months after 'retina' support
programming and developing software is pretty hard also and sometimes you can change one thing and it causes errors elsewhere in your code and to top it off there is most likely more than one person working on it so everyone might not do so well together i think they will eventually get to it tho l...

Re: Still no windows HiDPI support months after 'retina' support
Personally, I feel this high resolution support could be hugely derailing for a lot of small to mid sized devs, which is why I think it's too soon to completely abandon 1080p. It's been hard enough over the last few years with 64bit transitions, new plugin formats (Thanks Avid), and general OS maint...

Still no windows HiDPI support months after 'retina' support
This is kind of frustrating, as a lot of the newer PC workstation laptops with nice form factors are coming stock with 3k and up displays. 1080 is on very much on the way out. Too soon, I think. Maybe a quarter of my plugins have HiDPI support so far... but anyway. I use both OS X and Windows, I'm l...

Re: Making custom shortcuts to insert plugins / audio devices?
You could put the EQ and Filter that you use on a track, set it the way you want, then turn them off. Then right click on the audio track and 'save as default audio track'. Then it'll be set up the way you like everytime you make one. Another thing you can do is make a folder in 'places' and call it...

An option to 'Collect all and Save' when closing Live
I'm sure quite a few people could agree on this. Losing media happens quite often when I'm moving projects around between my systems, or when I'm receiving projects from collaborators. I know it's best practice to collect all and save before you transfer, but sometimes you just forget, especially if...

Re: Ableton Live has become an unreliable mess.
Yep. It's gotten pretty sluggish, and I hope something is done about it. Time is money for me in this case, unfortunately. And Live is my primary tool. Even dragging in simple effect racks with native devices in pretty modest sessions can cause things to choke up for 10-15 seconds for me, on both OS...

Drag and drop (possibly with a modifier) track routing
I think something like this would be useful in larger sessions. When track counts get high, even with well organized naming, the input output dialogs can get pretty clogged up. It would be great if we could click on a track output, hold a modifier, then drag to a track input, instead of reading and ...
