Creating Drum N Bass drum loops
Hello, After several years of only ever doing house/techno type stuff, I'm looking at having a go at drum 'n bass. And I must confess I'm struggling somewhat to get that classic drum n bass drum loop and percussion. I'm no noob to production or ableton but I'm hoping some of you can share your secre...

Re: Problem: Virus TI recording automation in arrangement view
Hi Greg, do you have the track armed for recording? This would have it overwrite all automation settings while recording. If you're looking to change specific parameters in separate run-throughs, then you just need to have global recording enabled. Yes I think that's exactly what I've been doing. I...

Problem: Virus TI recording automation in arrangement view
Hello, Have live 8 and a virus TI. Have used both together with no issues for ages. However, recently I have started recording automation on the TI in arrangement view whilst tweaking the knobs on the synth. Here comes the problem: Say for example, I automate and record the filter cutoff on the TI. ...

Re: methods for making beats
I've always used Simplers and nothing else.
But this idea some of you have of dropping audio straight into the arrange page, turn the grid off and arrange freestyle really intrigues me. I'm gonna give this a try. It does sound more time consuming but maybe worth the effort.
Thanks for that.

Re: how can i export the audio slices ?
god some of you whine too much, they are just words. i'm sure you have never used slang before... and if you haven't, well, you are too tighty whitey for me. sure, basic knowledge (of literary comprehension) shows a level of intelligence, but people who are sooooo worried about showing their...

Re: how can i export the audio slices ?
I'm English and as far as I'm aware this is a phrase that has been in the english language for donkeys years. Have you ever tried putting a sentence like that into one of those online translation tools (say, english to french) and then sending the result to a frenchman? We all use idioms and colloq...

Re: New music online - Dum Dum
Lovely deep bass. Maybe needs a tad bit of eq-ing/lower volume but it sounds cool. Some nice sounds, track is fairly well mixed. My two main issues are: 1) Lacks any kind of groove. The bass and many of the percs are all too "straight" so it plods along at a slow march rather than a groovy...
