Through the magic of ableton I'm getting pretty good at chopping vocals. Let me know what you guys think. I've been posting music on here for years.

Two new songs from Lou Leaves the Room

I've got two new songs. Let me know what you think. You can actually hear my piano bench creaking in the first song. I used the looper a lot for both songs. I love it.

Four Album completed with Ableton

Here is a video for the first track off our fourth album. Every album has been recorded, produced and mastered within Ableton Live. This latest ablum was completed entirely in the month of February as part of the RPM Challenge. The album releases on April 17th, so check it out. http://youtu.be/VQ5wu...

Pop or Click during Render, Not during playback

I am getting a very annoying pop or click in the waveform of some of my rendered songs. When I play back the project, I don't hear any problems. As soon as I render the track, I get a click corresponding to the beginning of certain clips or tracks. I have tried messing with fades, changing sample bu...

Remix of Local Natives - Wide Eyes

Has anyone ever heard the Local Natives? They are a cool little band I found on NPR's All Songs Considered. They offer their stems on Soundcloud for remixing.

Here is a remix of their song Wide Eyes.

Re: New Ableton Libraries

I agree, but I think we may have to look at other companies with VST's geared to a more natural sound. Native Instruments has a few instruments that could be helpful. If you just spent $600 on the Ableton Suite it is definitely frustrating to find a shortage of instruments for your music though. Gabe

Re: How I play live with Ableton

That is very helpful. I have never done any DJ style stuff in Ableton. I always use it as just a DAW, but I want to try some more improvisation. Your song is great. I also like the original. The weird, distorted and reversed vocal loops coming in and out of the song are just so intriguing it makes t...

Re: How I play live with Ableton

Daniel, That was great. Do you mind if I ask some questions about your performance. It seems like you used mostly 8 pads and a slew of knobs and faders to create your performance. Also, it didn't seem as if you changed scenes with the pads, so the entire perfomance was made of only 8 pad sounds, and...

Re: An album with Singing. Such an Oddity in this forum.

Devin,

Thanks for the compliment. I do write (except covers of course), perform and produce all the tracks. I do use Ableton almost exclusively. I have tried Reason/Record, but I just can't seem to follow their use model. I find Ableton straight forward and fairly intuitive.

Cover of Thong Song on YouTube done in Live

This is a cover song I did as a response to a request made on my Bandpage. We made all the music using Ableton as usual. This song dominated the air waves during 2000 even though it is truly awful. So, my brother-in-law thought it would be pretty funny to request it when I asked my fans which song I...
