Have you used them to produce music?

Whenever I hear "made in china" in association with higher end Audio Gear - I feel slightly uneasy. I would like to know if anyone has used the Prodipe Pro Ribbon 8's... I've read some good reviews of these speakers (soundonsound) http://www.soundonsound.com/sos/jun09/articles/prodiperibbo...

From my research it appears everyone hails the Apogee Duet as the best sounding audio interface under $500.

Would anyone disagree? Are there any other products around this price range that would compete? (for electronic music production)
