Re: 8.1.1 Unstable?

Live 8.1.3 is crashing a lot, but only under certain setups.

With vst/au and creating tracks with effects, it's fine.

When using it to load tracks for djing and editing those tracks time (ie time stretching) it crashes all the time. I can hardly do anything with 12 or more tracks, which is not ...

So I don't condemn Jobs, but I agree that the whole thing is an indication that we have screwed our priorities up beyond all comprehension. I can certainly agree with this statement. I grew-up and live in California. I think we live in a very greedy must have society and it's eroding the values ...

Sorry, if I hurt anyones feelings about the all americsan hero. His IQ might be 500 or 5000 , his achievements before he was 25 outstanding but the "show" that includes him and the "audience" bizzare, artificial and unbearable in its fakeness. Has nothing to do with his qualities as manager ...

he voicemail feature is at the low end of good things. Jobs "my way or no way" uncompromising attitude will turn out to hurt Apple, once again. THAT is why he is an asshole.
The voice mail feature is pretty cool. I like the idea of being able to pick which message I want to hear first. If that's ...

Sorry, I am not a member of that sect of Jobs . Find that man to be irritating because he is so fake , worse then Billy Gates who at least does not pretend to be kool, whole show was bizarre with those sheeps applauding like some religious sect their leader.
Your disdain for Steve Jobs is noted ...

It has been said by the developers many times on this very forum that it is not multithreaded. And i would imagine that they are working on it as it is a very common feature request, at least so i have heard.

Its a bummer, yes, but with the release of versions 4 and 5, the Live.app on MacOS saw ...

Live does NOT utilize a 2nd core, processor, cpu, or whatever else you want to call it for the audio engine.
Yep unfortunately - and if it used both processors in the dualcore, you'd see better results for the dualcore G5 machines in AJ's test. Instead, the results for dualcore G5s are matching ...

Thanks for the lesson in terms and all, but that still doesn't mean Live uses both cores for its audio engine. Because quite simply it does not.

Now, the new Dual Core G5's will give Live marginally better performance at same clock speeds of the old regular Dual CPU G5's. but the 1MB L2 cache has ...

Here's from Webopedia

Dual-core refers to a CPU that includes two complete execution cores per physical processor. It combines two processors and their caches and cache controllers onto a single integrated circuit (silicon chip). It is basically two processors, in most cases, residing reside side-by-side on the same die ...

Wrong. Live's audio engine uses ONE processor whether you have a dual CPU or dual CORE machine. This has already been proven time and time again. Until Live is rewritten the audio engine will not benefit from the second cpu or a dual core cpu. The GUI is so minor it's silly to try and justify ...

You can activate it in preferences. I think it's in the section where you enter your serial. Somewhere around there

If you are going to check out the operator. Then download 700+ free patches on this website http://www.thecovertoperators.com/downloads.php

Have fun

Operator Install?

Helllo,

I uninstalled Operator from my purchased copy of Live 5 as I don't like Demo's in my plugin list. Now I want to give it a try, but there's no place to download it without downloading and reinstalling Live 5.

Anyone know where I can download just Operator?

Cheers!
ya , in terms of processing actual audio it does have to be programmed.

the gui can take advantage of dual processors etc. robert henke himself commented on this somewhere....
Just so we're all on the same page, we're talking about Multi-Processor systems (two or more ...

Multi Processor Support

I would really like to see Mulit Processor Support. My PowerBook can't handle the number of plugins and effects I throw at it, so I'm saving to buy a Quad PowerMac G5 early next year.

Has Albeton mentioned if they're even thinking about offering this feature?
