Yeah, that was it. Thanks.
Another question: No matter what velocity I set for each midi note, my sample won't play at a higher or lower volume. Any advice?

Searching for a specific Drum Rack setting
Hi guys, I am experimenting with an MPD24 since a couple of days, It's pretty fun. I am searching for a setting though, which allows me to start a sample with a MIDI note and it plays till the end. At the moment I have to press the key continuously. If I depress the key, the sample stops playing. If...

Re: Noob question: One Midi device per Channel
But what do I have to set to control one MIDI channel with the MPD24 and another MIDI channel with the LPK25?

Noob question: One Midi device per Channel
Hi all,
I have a simple question: How can I assign one MIDI device to a channel and another MIDI device to another channel so me and a friend can play different instruments at the same time. Thanks for your help
best regards
Adem

Re: Ableton live lessons in Berlin
Wow, I'd wish to have some active Ableton users here (south of Germany) since I am also pretty new to Ableton. Well, this means that I'll have to figure out everything by myself... which is not really bad!

Re: Buying a new laptop - which component is the most important?
I just found a website counting all the connections the Studio 17 has. According to the website, it has the following ones: # 2 USB 2.0 Anschlüsse # 1 USB 2.0-kompatibler / e-SATA-Anschluss mit Powershare # VGA # HDMI # Display Port # Firewire # ExpressCard-Steckplatz (32 mm) # 8-in-1-Medien-Kartenl...

Re: Buying a new laptop - which component is the most important?
Okay, even though the cheapest dv8 has an i5, it's still at 1099€ which is way too much. I think I'll stick with Dell unless there is no better recommendation. What do you think of this sound card? I heard that PCMCIA is pretty outdated so I decided to look for a USB solution. ESI MAYA 44 USB Can yo...

Re: Buying a new laptop - which component is the most important?
Thanks for the info mate. I just looked around the Dell website and found a very interesting offer: Intel® Core™ i7-720QM Mobile-Prozessor (1,60 GHz, Turbo bis 2,80 GHz, 6 MB L3-Cache) 17.3” High Definition+ (1600x900) LED with TL 4.096 MB 1333 MHz Dual-Channel DDR3 SDRAM [2 x 2.048] 500-GB-Serial A...

Re: Buying a new laptop - which component is the most important?
An i7 would be too expensive i guess, he wants to spend around 800€ - 100€ for the sound card = 700€

Re: Buying a new laptop - which component is the most important?
Wow, many thanks for all the helpful replies! We (me and a friend) want to make hip hop music using an MPD 24 and a small LPK25. It's very important to have a low latency between those devices, since timing is essential when drumming/sampling. In this case, an indigo card (which costs about 110€ her...

Re: Buying a new laptop - which component is the most important?
What does the sound card improve exactly? Is it the sound quality or the ability to use ASIO for lower latency?

Buying a new laptop - which component is the most important?
Hi Guys,
I am getting a new laptop for Live, but I am now sure what specs would be sufficient to run Live perfect. Is it a powerful CPU, a high amount of RAM or an external sound card, which I'd have to buy. Can you make any recommendations for me? Thanks
greetz
