Yes you have to have rane hardware, SL1, SL2, SL3, SL4, TTM 57, or 68 (my weapon of choice) . You can download scratchlive "free" but cant use unless you have one of these Rane products. they act as a usb dongles so to speak. Sale your traktor box and pick a TTM 57 or SL2 and your in business...

using serato scratch live and the bridge (ableton integration) will give the best of old school and new school integration.

To dream are not to dream is the question...i say just give it a couple of months coz Serato/Abelton definitely have a bridge connecting each other! I saw it in person...at namm Jan. 2010 so just relax

What exactly do you think a bridge between Serato and Ableton is suppose to be...duh. Serato the master of timecode vinyl emulation...Ableton clip lanching warping etc and also production...Of course serato will control the vinyl manipulation and of course ableton should be control the clip lanching ...
