Re: How to prepare tracks with BPM variences for live sets?
I encountered the same problem today. My solution: -find the moment where the track starts to slow down (I figure it's the beginning of bar 101 in "Happy Violence (Original Mix)", or maybe bar 105.) -put a warp marker on the downbeat of that bar. -find the moment where the song returns to ...

Re: Live 8.2 - can't copy/paste audio clips or duplicate clips
Sent the info on to support, thanks.
Apparently there's something janky about the set, I created a fresh one and brought in the audio clips from the janked one and it appears to be working. So that's good.

Re: Ableton Live 8.2
@Ableton guys:
Did you guys ever consider releasing bittorrents of these minor releases? I'm getting mine at a blazing 50 kbps, when my connection is capable of > 1MBps.
If we were all seeding the file to each other it would go a lot faster.

Re: Routing Problems
Best thing to do in these cases is always to follow the signal in a logical way: 1: listen to the evolver itself. Put headphones in an out or something. Is it making a sound? Then trace the audio back step by step until you see where it's getting lost. Step 2 would be, if the sapphire has a way to m...

Re: [Noob] Clip on audio track sans audio
Record the percussion clips onto Track A. Record a little bit of silence and drop the silent clip onto Track B. (This is known as a "dummy clip.") Set the routing of Track A to go to Track B. Set Track B's monitor type to In. Any automation in the dummy clip now affects the audio from Trac...

Latency differs between midi channels and external insts
Hello all, Vexing problem regarding the External Instrument plugin. First of all, I'm loving the idea of it and it is ALMOST the most fantastic thingamajig ever. However, it seems to behave differently than the midi tracks regarding latency. I've done a little experimenting around and if I set the &...

Re: Ableton Live 8.2
Syncing to a groovebox or synth has not been a good experience for me, I'll grant you that. I don't know if it's my MIDI router or what, but the tempo jumps all over the place. I'm tempted to think that this is not a Live problem, though, since I see the same thing if I try to sync an fx unit to a g...

Re: Ableton Live 8.2
The workaround would be to use it as a remote control and sync using your ears, I think that's how most folks are doing it.

Re: rising pitch synth effect
If you can get the sound you want, bounce it to disk and drop it in as an audio clip, that's the easiest technique.

Re: "I love Ableton Live because it's so easy to..."
I disagree with the premise that the workflow has gotten more cumbersome. Racks (and the ease of dragging and dropping onto them) have sped up my music-making in a huge way.

Re: 8.1.3 Release Notes/Bug Fixes
The moral of the story is that software is complex, and that the only way to really know if something is working - for you - is to try it. While we have agreed to release changelogs now, we still don't think users should base their decision about whether or not to update on a reading of the changel...

Re: 8.1.3 Release Notes/Bug Fixes
It's not the downloading, it's the unpacking and installing that takes forever. I typically set it to download while I'm at work.

Re: 8.1.3 Release Notes/Bug Fixes
I would not install a Live update without a changelog, simply because Live updates are HUGE and they take forever. Every time you update it downloads every single sample that's going into the library and sets it all up. I don't have unlimited time, I'm not waiting through that unless I have a reason...
