MAX 7 / M4L - SECURITY ISSUE and Java SE6

With a fresh install of Live 9.5, I've also installed the latest version of MAX/M4L. While my computer is patched up to the current version of Java, M4L plugins insist on having Java SE6 installed. Having outdated version of Java exposes users to HUGE security issues. Why then does this dependency i...

Re: APC40 "instant mapping" doesn't work - no "red box"

Just to rule everything out here: you're connecting and powering up the APC before you start Live, right ? And if not: even restarting (closing/starting) Live doesn't make the difference then? Yep - powered up as you indicated. Weird thing is that using it for a custom MIDI mapping works fine ...AN...

APC40 "instant mapping" doesn't work - no "red box"

Heyo. Just got the APC40 and having a weird problem with getting the "instant mapping" to work. After getting stuck, I'm going thru the APC40 lesson built into Live 8.1.1 ... I've got the the APC40 selected in the "Control Surface" setting of the MIDI/Sync Preferences but I'm not...

BTW, which commonly used controllers use GM mapping anyways? Wasn't GM drum mapping for old hardware rack synths back in the 80's? WORD! I actually LOL'd when I saw the whole GM setup thing!! As if most of us need to construct our workflow to include regular use of a xylophone or tipmani sound. :ro...

If I understand well, you want one chain per element (kick, snare etc..), and different samples per element, velocity dependent? By default, that chain would receive C1, and output C3, which will play the Kick samples at original pitch, if you play a C1 on the keyboard. ... Load the samples in the ...

THANKS!

Hope that helps, Amaury Thanks for the reply, Amaury - really appreciate it! Your solution is more or less what I had envisioned but something happened on the way to heaven... probably my being new to Sampler w/ L7. Probably not going to impress the more seasoned rack-meisters out there, but I will...

A special case is "All" for the incoming note. It means that this chain would receive and pass on every note, it won't filter anything. This special routing is generally used for the case when you have a group in a chain, i.e. another Drum Rack with unique mappings. Hey Amaury. Thanks aga...

1) pitch/tuning for each drum rack pad will be accomplished with the associated simpler transpose function. Sorry... should have made it more clear - I am looking to map the Pitch/Transpose function to a knob on my Remote SL. The "Play" parameter (between "Receive" and "Cho...

DRUM RACKS ..WHERE is the Pitch/Tune knob?? + routing WTF?

I'm just starting to play around with the new Drum Racks. Looks promising, but... 1) I can't find a freakin' Pitch/Tuning knob per Pad! WTF?!? 2) I *hope* I can route, for example, C-2 and C-1 thru the same audio strip in the Mixer. Looks as though you might be able to set this in the "Audio To...

I was kinda hoping that they would make it easier to manage the default Automap setups. Changing them up now is such a PITA that I don't even bother to use Automap. Using it mainly with NI Reaktor, it's more time-consuming than anything. Not really a "user-friendly", performance-enhancing ...

yep +1 those pads are utter bollocks. even the pads on the cheapest shittiest drum machines on the planet far outclass the shit ones on remote sl. Other than that I think its a pretty fucking amazing bit of kit though Also, the performance of the top row of "endless encoder" knobs is flak...
