Confused as to the best way to track OTB to mix ITB
Hi all, This is the sort of question I will prolly be embarrassed I asked in 6 months but I am really perplexed at the best way to approach this problem. I have have a fair amount of synths, drum machines, and samplers that amount to many inputs of patch bays consumed. Previously I was using using A...

Re: Motu 828mk3 and Ableton routing issues
I had the same problem and there definitely is just one solution: You have to use the Analog 1&2 outputs as your main outs. They are loud, yes. The bad thing is, that you have to buy something like a big knob from Mackie (which I did) or a Mixer and hook it in between the MOTU and your speakers...

Motu 828mk3 and Ableton routing issues
Hi guys, Firstly thanks for your time. I bought a second hand 828 MK3 yesterday and I have been trying to configure it with Ableton Live and my Macbook Pro. I figured out that by assigning my Audio Set Up as: Default Stereo Out: Main Out 1&2 Main Out Assign: Main Out 1&2 Then set Cue Mix up ...

Re: Suggestions on increasing the chance of getting demos heard
Thanks - considering doing this in the future at some point, but know absolutely nothing about it. From the blog post: Another great idea that also protects your material from potential theft is to do a short mix of 4 to 6 song clips as a single streaming file. Then I get the full overview of your ...

Suggestions on increasing the chance of getting demos heard
By no means am I trying to claim out label - Solid Bump - is on some Ministry of Sound type status, but as it's popularity has rose so are the amount of demos we get. From these, I have noticed some things that either encourage us to really listen - or - toss it in a folder that we will get to when ...

Re: How to set up a Sidechain compressor non Ableton
Set up a new channel which will host the SC Comp. Duplicate the channel you want sending the signal to the sidechain > then route this signal to to the SC channel via Audio To. Below that routing option, there is another to route into the SC plug in. Then go to the channel you want to be effected by...

Midi controller rotary knobs not mapping correctly
I am doing a short live set tonight at the end of a regular CDJ set. I have not used Live as a performance tool in a long time. I hooked up my Trigger Finger which has been sitting unused for about 2 years and I have noticed two weird things. 1) The device is sending midi data even when it is not be...

Re: Reverb Quality
Oh and as far as Live's reverb, I like it but only for making swell builds for breakdowns and such - big room house style.

Re: Reverb Quality
My girlfriend just bought me 112db's reverb for my birthday. I have barely been able to use it but so far I quite like the sound. Only $150.

Re: how to make a rolling percussion sound
Possibly, I think the main thing in it is getting that shuffle groove going. Then play with the velocity and filter.lkj wrote:yes drum rack. i'll try using s filtr. Do you think its maybe more then one sample????

Re: how to make a rolling percussion sound
I assume you are programming the noise in Drum Racks?
Have you tried playing around with the groove of the midi, velocity of the sample, as well as putting a velocity sensitive filter on each of the hits?
Samples sound far less "machine gunner" when you do subtle tricks like these.

Setting up assigned Drum Rack Macros as a default?
I saw a unanswered request for this under support when I searched with no replies obviously because it was in the wrong place. I just set up a nice sampler drum rack preset under Defaults/On Drum Rack with the velocity set as well as a little filter controlled with velocity. I have a huge single hit...

Laberge's Debut EP on Solid Bump (Disco House)
Our newest artist Laberge has dropped his debut EP. It's been getting a great response being featured on iTunes, some major player support (see below), as well as blog hype. It is 100% an Ableton produced selection too  http://www.whitegirllust.com/blog/images/BUMP006_itunes.jpg Promo video fo...
