Re: i liked the new Novation SL -Frankfurt Messe

Thanks for the info rikhyray. It really does look they've fine tuned the design of the Zero as the tweaks to the layout make it look less fiddly. Better faders was always something I was after and the encoders from the Nocturn feel far better, aside from now having the LED ring. You mention that the...

Re: Novation launch biggest music product of 2009?

So the new Zero has 60mm sliders now too!?

That was always my least favourite part of the Mk1, even more so than the detented encoders, especially when DJing. If they had to lose the righthand screen i'm glad it was to add better faders.

Re: Novation launch biggest music product of 2009?

From the Novation website.....

Top row of encoders are now smooth, rather than detented.

Result!

This is what I've really wanted to know. So can you do relatively a lot of stuff with just using native VST's or do you really need Max (or some other runtime) to make it for practical use? As far as i'm aware it is only Steve Duda that has released VST versions of monome specific aps, although I c...

It is very easy to set up the monome as a regular MIDI controller using the available base patches, plus there is a growing number of user contributed stuff that offer different ways of working with Live. http://post.monome.org/comments.php?DiscussionID=418&page=1#Item_0 http://post.monome.org/c...

I've been slowly trying to fine tune a set-up incorporating Steve Duda's Molar VST and my 40h. It's nothing too complicated at the moment and basically comprises of 3 'turntable' tracks, an FX/Loops track and a MIDI track for Molar. Molar makes it incredibly easy to create loops on the fly, edit dif...

so say you have some sounds that you want to use in molar and you decide you really like them as a song, does that mean everytime you want to play that song you have to put the file extensions into it or can you save things as "songs" and recall them? There's no save as yet. I've just bee...

theres a video of molar on youtube where he has to copy file extensions, anyone know if you to do that crap or can you just load files? You have to add a file extension for each row of your monome initially, this process is a little bit easier in OSX as you can just drag and drop the actual .wav in...

I'd also say go for the BCR. I've had a Zero SL since they were released and have been quite pleased with it although I still ended up buying a BCR to give me more immediate controls i.e. without having to scroll through layers of templates. Since getting the Behringer I have been using it a lot mor...

Very nicely done!

I was looking forward to trying out Tension ahead of the other 2 new synths and that has made me even more impatient.
