Move an audio clip vertically not horizontally?
I can't remember how to do it as I've not used Live in a while, but how do you move an audio clip vertically to another track not have it move about horizontally? Ta.

Korg Monotron: fudge fingers
I've loved every second of playing with my Korg Monotron this year. 'Specially when hooked up to Echoboy.. But the time has come to put some accurate takes down and my fudge fingers keep getting in the way. So far I've tried a plectrum (pretty good for expression but not so accurate) and a...

Miking live string quartet?
So I'm recording a string quartet next week to do some parts on a few songs of mine. The material is largely acoustic guitars, drums, bass...some electric gats and some synth warbles...lots of vocal harmonies. So am thinking get the players lined up comfortably in a small semi-circle, set up a stere...

Re: Consolidate/export individual track wavs to mix in PT
I know this is a bit dull, but I really need to know & reading similar threads has left me more confused than ever. So does Export just do exactly that - export the wav with just the edit data and nothing else?
Here's one of the songs btw...

Consolidate/export individual track wavs
Been forced into Protools land for a while now in order to play nice with other studios, but I still love to edit in Live so I've been using them in tandem. Now, in PT you can consolidate and export the raw wav files of individual tracks pre-faders, plugins, etc..just the PCM data - can I do the sam...

Re: External hardware effects advice.
Hey - thanks for taking the time to reply. Will give it a shot...think I may have sussed it now. And, yes you're right, compressors work much better as track inserts, but just playing around. Strangely, after arseing about for a couple of hours with the hardware, I decided that my plugin compressors...

External hardware effects advice.
Just wondering if someone may be able to help me solve an external effects problem. I've never used the dedicated plugin for this in Live before and I'm struggling a bit. I'm wanting to use my Joe Meek VC3Q hardware compressor in the mix, so I have routed the out on the back of the unit to input 3 o...

Re: Anyone use Pro Tools 8?
Yeah, looks like it. Damn. Such an obvious feature it would seem. But maybe I've just been spoiled by Live's intuitive workflow. It's hard making the switch, but I have to do it for a new project. Still, on the audio side of things, the track comping & loop recording from alternative takes is am...

Anyone use Pro Tools 8?
Just getting my head around the midi editor in PT8 after using Live as my main DAW. Wondering if there's a way of only showing the notes in use like in Live, rather than the whole piano roll?

Arturia Rock!
Had a HD fail on me & had to wipe it.
Couldn't reinstall Analog Factory so mailed Arturia support. Got a reply less than 5 minutes later with new license!
Just really impressed - exactly what you'd expect from a company that cares about its products and their users.

Re: Vocal comping in Live
I do a lot of vocal recording in Live, and it's a massive pain in the arse. But out of sheer laziness I'll record a take in Arr. view then drag it over out of the way to the right & then do another, etc. Then drag them all into new tracks to audition once I'm done recording. edit- this becomes m...

Re: My latest record - all done in Live 6 - FREE till Xmas
Here's a taster track. http://keegansnaize.bandcamp.com/track/beautiful-moon It's a song written in a certain style, a 1940's jazz-inflected thing with double bass, brushed snare, tenor guitars & so on. The sort of recording that would be challenging enough to get sounding right in any top studi...
