Re: APC 40 - Way to cancel?
Lets say your in the middle of a one-minute-clip.. If you then accidently trigger a new clip or a dummy clip or an empty clip or whatever, there is no way to cancel the action and continue the one-minute-clip where you left off/screwed up.. You need to start the clip from the beginning.. Right? If ...

Re: Automating Solo Button
I remember seeing this coming up in an article I read years ago (~Live 3 maybe). Which said that automating solos was actually quite difficult to do in the Live engine. My guess is that internally the solo does the mute every other track trick, and while that's fine if it's a user pressing a button,...

Re: Gameshow Buzzer Live Set - Help me figure out how to...
Can you set each midi input to a different channel (or interface) and a different note? Assuming you can, for each of the contestants (N) have a midi track coming in. Set the interface and channel of each track so that only one controller's note comes into it. Set the output of the track to a loopba...

Irish Ableton Live Usergroup this Saturday
The first meeting of the Irish Ableton Live User group is taking place this Saturday (the 5th December) in the Twisted Pepper as part of The Beatyard (http://www.bodytonicmusic.com/beatyard/). Re: 249 Euros to make my apc into a stepsequencer?
Do i have to spent 249 Euros for M4L to turn my APC into a stepsequencer? Is there any other possibilty? It's not that i think M4L is too expensive. Probably it's a great thing for a lot of people but for my needs just too much! It's pretty simple to do out of the box, if you set up the right midi ...

Re: Max for Live - first impressions?
I'd bet the lack of a runtime is more to do with lack of development time (particularly the testing which everyone always forgets about) than with greed.

Re: Dublin users
Hey, I'm Lorcan from bodytonic forum. I got quite a bit of interest on Wednesday to get a proper user group going (a lot more than previous times I've tried to do the same, which is great). I'm going to send out a mail soon with the current state of play so if you're interested just drop me a Privat...

Re: The Dublin Workshop
Hey, a few of us on the Bodytonic forum have been trying to set up a Ableton user group (http://bodytonicmusic.com/forum/28132/topic/view/?page=last#lastpost) but trying to do that via a forum is a bit awkward, so what we've decided to do is have a chat after the Dublin Workshop. I'll try and get do...

Re: Playing Time-Synced Samples In Drum Rack
If you set the sample length in simpler to the minimum, switch on loop and automate the sample start time to go from 0 to 100% over say a bar (assuming your sample is one bar long) then you'll get a kind of granular timestretch. In a drumrack you'll probably want to assign Sample Start for each of y...

Re: how can a midi track output data to multiple midi channels
Bit of a hack, but if you midi map controls on an effects rack to the correct CC and channel then the values and channel are echoed out to the midi outputs set to Remote On.

Re: "cohesive" sound....or how to not sound amatuer
One little trick I've been using a lot (which I read in an interview with Robert Henke) is to split the signal into middle and side channel, ie group two Utility effects in parallel and set their width to 200% and 0%, and drop one of the distortion effects on the side channel. This can add a lot of ...

If I'm missing out on some super awesome Max tutorial site, then please someone fill me in. I want to learn more, but all I've found are 1 or two basic tuts, then BAM! The rest involve building a patch that looks like the world's largest circuit diagram. lol. The best tutorial is the one included w...
