Re: Automatically MIDI map macro controls for the "active" rack?

I did file a bug report with Ableton and got a nice support reply back saying that there is indeed a regression in Live 9.6 that causes problems with the "blue hand" correctly following your focused device. They said it's "high on our priority list of things to fix."

Looking forward to it!

Re: Automatically MIDI map macro controls for the "active" rack?

Are there any known bugs about the blue hand... not consistently following device selection?

It's easily reproduced and there doesn't seem to be a lot of rhyme or reason to the behavior I'm seeing. This is Live 9.6, OS X 64-bit on El Capitan.

Re: Automatically MIDI map macro controls for the "active" rack?

Okay, it worked: when I see a "blue hand" on a device rack, the eight faders on my controller are instantly mapped to the macro controls.

But now I have a confusion: when, exactly, do you get the "blue hand"? The documentation seems to suggest that, provided you haven't "locked" something to a ...

Ah, that will do it. The documentation in those files seems to be all you really need -- easy!

Thanks!

Automatically MIDI map macro controls for the "active" rack?

I find myself using lots of racks and tweaking their macro controls.

I have a MIDI controller with eight beautiful faders.

How can I convince Ableton to let me control the currently active rack (the one I've selected, or some default choice for the currently selected channel) with the same MIDI ...

Hey Pedro,

I enjoyed listening to your tracks. How long have you been working on this style of music?

My impression is that you have talent -- maybe serious talent -- but you're at an early stage. Don't give up, and keep rocking the tunes.

Here are your two apparent strengths: (1) you have a good ...

Quantizing 'Back To Arrangement'?

I'm working on a track with a backing arrangement and a lot of clips to let me step out of the arrangement in interesting ways.

I assigned 'back to arrangement' to a key but it doesn't appear that global quant applies to this button (or many related buttons, like solos/mutes in the mixer segment ...
