Re: Importing Audio files sampled above 96khz
Exactly, chrk. I don't intend use this mic with musical instruments or voices. I'm using it for recording insects and other natural sounds. It's one of several mics I use for field recording.

Re: Importing Audio files sampled above 96khz
Thanks, Tarekith and Fishmonkey. I wasn't aware of Hi Q, so thanks for the info! I do want to keep the sample rate high as Fishmonkey points out, but if 192k is the highest I can import I will need to downsample to 192, so Tarekith's info is helpful too.

Importing Audio files sampled above 96khz
Hello, I'm using a Dodotronic Ultramic 200 http://www.dodotronic.com/index.php/ultramics/?v=7516fd43adaa that records at 200khz which I'm using to sample at a high rate and then stretch out/slow the sample. I'd like to do some work with this in Ableton but I've noticed that the highest sample rate I...

Increasing speed and pitch of a clip
Hello, I'm wanting to increase the speed of a clip, but have the pitch increase as would occur with a tape machine. I do have a tape machine to do this with, but I'm wondering if Ableton allows you to do this natively (or if there is a plugin). I need the pitch and clip length to alter in a directly...

Re: Post-Namm synth lust - Korg MS-20 Kit vs. Moog Sub 37
Just picked up an MS-20 mini and I love this thing. Tons of fun and a great sound. I work in tech and I'm getting to the point where I don't want to do any work on the computer so I'm avoiding the midi editor for my Oberheim Matrix 1000 like the plague. I love the one-knob-per-parameter physical int...

Post-Namm synth lust - Korg MS-20 Kit vs. Moog Sub 37
Two monosynths (ok, the Moog is paraphonic) from NAMM this year. Similar price, different synths. Which is the more exciting piece of kit to you? Korg MS-20 Kit: $1,399, due in March https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cue1LX0jxVg#t=15 Moog Sub 37: $1,579 due in May https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0N4xn...

Re: Presonus FireStudio - improvements in latency
Nice! Sounds like you've gotten a nice little system there. I'd be interested in knowing which UA tue pre you went with. I don't actually have firewire on my macbook, i'ts thunderbolt. I might look around for a thunderbolt interface since they apparently have those now. But knowing the manufacturers...

Re: Presonus FireStudio - improvements in latency
Helpful comments, all! H2Only, sorry about misreading the TC Electronic device, it's actually a really good and affordable option. Also, I have NO IDEA why it didn't turn up in my search on Sweetwater, but I'm glad you sent the link! So, I'm between the TC Electronics and FocusRite. I've heard first...

Re: Presonus FireStudio - improvements in latency
Hey thanks! Only two channels, though. Like I said I need 10 - 16. The Studio Konnekt 48 could work but I can't find a price or dealer in the US.

Presonus FireStudio - improvements in latency
Hello! My existing audio interface has started crackling and buzzing and so I'm looking for a new. firewire or thunderbolt interface. I need something with 12 - 16 channels and I'd like to keept the price down. I've gotten a lot of bang for the buck on presonus gear (such as my stuiochannel channel ...

Re: Isolating partials in FM synthesis with Operator
k5000 Nice! That fits the bill! Interestingly, I went on ebay and found a K5000W for a lot less than the other k5000s's but I spent a few minutes looking for a macro box controller came back... And it was SOLD!! Hahaha! Fuck my life. Anyway, great recommendation, I'll keep an eye out for another on...

Isolating partials in FM synthesis with Operator
I've been playing around with the nice chime sounds in operator by isolating a single waveform partial or dragging the mouse to bring up a few more bars. I'm wondering if there are any digital hardware synths that give you that kind of detailed control of partials in waveform experimentation (FM or ...

Yeah, that's a good suggestion. I'm using Presonus channel strips and I love them. Very solid.

Supported audio interfaces
Hello, There used to be a section on the Ableton website showing supported hardware. I'm looking for a high-quality audio interface that can handle 8-16 tracks at once. I'd like to record in Ableton as its the software I use for everything else. I'm looking at the UAD Apollo Quad Core and I'm wonder...
