Re: Plugins to electronic/trance music

Do you mean plugins with a certain kind of character? Or synths that have a lot of presets for the genre? If you want a synth that's been tried and tested in trance you should really look into getting sylenth, it's not free but it was pretty much made for edm. I bet 50% of anjuna tracks you hear hav...

Re: Help With Progressive House Snares

If you happen to have the full soundprank track (not the anjunabeats promo version on youtube), go to around 6:03. You'll hear the snare playing without the kick. Since it's hard to really hear what a snare sounds like on top of a kick I think you'll find it helpful hearing the snare in isolation si...

Best way to warp acoustic guitar?

A friend of mine sent me an acoustic guitar recording to work on but it drifts in and out of time with the beat. I'm about to warp it to correct the timing issues and I was wondering what the best way to go about it is. It was recorded with a click track so the bpm doesn't fluctuate much, but it dri...

Re: Where does sound designing come in?

It really depends on the situation. I'll sometimes start with a patch that inspires me to turn it into a good melody or harmony. As I add more parts, I might realize that the original sound or the midi notes don't work well with the rest of the stuff. So I may change them around. I usually end up co...

Re: Good Swells?

You can widen things with simple delay. Switch it to time mode, set one channel to 1 ms and the other channel anywhere between 10 and 30 ms. Make sure you set it to 100% wet and put the feedback down to 0.

Re: SOUND QUALITY COMPARISON, Live versus Logic

I would think it makes more sense for the vagina to be tighter at it's fertile peak... It's showing changes in the cervix, not the vagina. When it's stretchy fertilization can happen easier. Also gives more room for higher amplitude oscillations  So maybe what Poonti was trying to say is that ...

Re: Beginner mixing and Mastering

You wanna get things as loud as possible before sending them through the limiter, that way you'll minimize quality degradation/distortion. The limiter is just there to squeeze out that last bit. Make sure your waveform has no phase cancellation or too much frequency clashing because that seems to ma...

Re: SOUND QUALITY COMPARISON, Live versus Logic

It probably comes down to the built in instruments and effects having a specific character, Logic's built in fx and instruments have always sounded better to me. I think it's partly because it's the DAW of choice for quite a few big name artists, so when you hear logic's effects/instruments they sou...

Re: Black Friday Deals

How does the rob papen delay compare to the free alternatives out there in terms of sound character? I'm not so much interested in the routing possibilities as I am in the tone it has. Is it anywhere near as good as echoboy? Would it still be worth buying if I just wanna use it as a basic stereo de...

Re: Black Friday Deals

Good questions What are the free alternatives you rate well? To be honest, I haven't used any free delays other than Live's built in one's, so I wouldn't know... But I found this list of free delay plugins just now: http://bedroomproducersblog.com/2011/02/27/bpb-freeware-studio-best-free-delay-vst-...
