Re: How to i record one midi track onto another?

by 'midi sample (1 bar track)', do you mean a midi clip?

So you want to launch midi clips with midi notes? Are the midi notes meant to come from a remote controller, or another midi clip?

Re: krk vxt 8 or hs80m?

KRK better than dyn? that's an uncommon opinion. Asking people on a forum about what monitor is better is always going to be a little fruitless really. It's such a subjective thing; everyone listens to different music, everyone has different shaped ears, different listening history, expectations and...

Re: Ableton Live as a Multitrack Recorder

I'd use a dedicated multi-track/linear style DAW tbh. Live has a lot of fun bells and whistles and is a great composition/performance/sound design tool, but at the end of the day if you're doing oldschool track recording I'd stick with tools/cubase etc. personally. I find arrangement view much less ...

Re: world music scales + alternate tuning scales + microtonal??

it's a shame the pitch device only moves in semi-tones.

Only work around I can think of that doesn't involve MAX is making your own multi-instrument racks were you tune each individual note to your needs. Not exactly a quick fix though, is it :(

Re: Controlling Chain Device Levels and parameters with APC40?

I know what you mean. If you have a group of tracks that are folded together you can hold the track selection button and they will unfold, allowing you to access the tracks with your APC for solo/arm/volume/pan/send etc, but you can't do the same for things that are grouped because they are in instr...
