That's great that Live 6 finally has more midi mapping features. Alas, I cannot afford the upgrade, nor a new computer to run it on. Believe it or not, I'm using a Powerbook G3 @ 500mhz. Live 4 runs well enough, but don't try to run any other apps. Live 3 was actually better, I own 4 not 3. 3 was a ...

Definitely doable! All it takes is some sort of midi controller assigned to a slot to record & playback. The tricky part is deleting the clip around the time you want to record another. That's where MidiStroke saves the day. I mapped my sustain pedal (for lack of better foot controller at the moment...

MIDISTROKE!! If this works I'll cream my pants! I spent hours looking for something like this a few days ago, and then hours more futzing with Applescript, trying to trigger keystrokes. One thing though is that midistroke may translate midi messages into keystrokes, but can it be pointed at a specif...

It's on your Tiger install disc. Doesn't work on Panther. I want to know how to get Live to act like this- hands off of the computer! The biggest hurdle is deleting old clips. The next is playing the clip seamlessly as soon as it's finished recording. It seems like I'll have to sync Max/MSP to Live ...

Anyone heard about or done anything new w/this plugin in the last year? Can it send each loop to separate outputs? Midi bindings fixed?

how fast is Live 4 compared to 3?

I'm pondering purchasing the pugrade from Live 3 to 4, but I have a very old computer (2000 powerbook G3/500) and I am wondering if I will notice any decreases in speed. Live 3 is wonderful where it is, and while I would like a couple new features, The most important issue is performance. What are s...

Recording capabilities on sends

I like to use the pitch knob to play melodies and chord progressions on less exciting samples. It would be really cool if I could record what I do so that it could be easily looped and continue doing what I just did. Either the sends could have an optional record button, or the destionation could ju...

So there was that note about loading 240 clips... How many could feasably be played back at once? Suppose that I felt it necessary to make around 30 tracks. Could 30 files stream from a generic 7200rpm firewire drive? more? Less? I suppose it would depend on the bit and sample rate as well. Plus CPU...

I second (sixth?) the notion. It would be espescially useful when you record a clip live and don't really have the opportunity to run it through Peak or what not real quick to add that extra space.
Do it!
