Re: APC40 - Step Sequencer, Note Mode, 2nd Device Control, etc.

I seem to have created a Rack that stops the script from working - just when I thought I had got it how I wanted it! Aaargh! How is it possible? It just contains, vsts and simplers yet if I load up a set without it it works fine. Weird. Hey Jimmy, If you could give me a more detailed description of...

Re: Ableton Guitarists

The secret to total control is "Mackie Control Board emulation." Set up a Live MIDI input as if it were a Mackie Control, then send MIDI notes on channel 1. I just posted a link to a list of the notes, and what they do, to this same thread about 20 minutes ago. These controls would let you move fro...

There are also a few articles which describe how to access the LiveAPI using python scripts on my blog (specifically, remote scripting with the help of the Framework classes):

Re: ClyphX – simple (and free), Clip-based scripting language

Hey Stray,

This is a brilliant demonstration of how MIDI remote scripting can be used to leverage the potential of the Live API. It also demonstrates your mastery and ability to think outside the box - excellent work man (and thanks for sharing)!

Re: Python gurus - Nanopad script

However, when I move the red box, that is 2 tracks wide by 5 scenes high, it moves in intervals of 5. For example,if the box is around the 1-5 scenes, once i move it down it goes to 6-10. Madureira, I suspect that you have your navigation pads assigned to the "zoomed" navigation parameters of the F...

Re: Taking APC40 and APC20 out of combination mode

It would appear that you can prevent the APC40 and APC20 from operating in combination mode by adding a line to your options.txt file. "DontCombineAPCs" Deactivate the APC combination mode: don't align and sync the session rings of multiple APCs so they can be moved independently. Supported since: 8...

You might also be interested in trying the APC 64-40 MIDI remote script (available at my blog), which includes a step sequencer inspired in part by the CS Step Sequencer.

Re: Tutorial - MIDI SET UP BEHRINGER FCB-1010 ON ABLETON LIVE

Hey guys, There is also an APC40 emulator script for the FCB1010 available at my blog, which is similar in some ways to manuel's script, except that it is fully customizable and includes an APC/Launchpad-style "red box". It also comes with a sysex file, for use with Live's "dump" function. http://fo...

Re: observing Launchpad focus area (red ring)?

Hi ShelLuser, You're not wrong - in python one can indeed override a method to change its functionality. In this case you would need to override the _bank_left_value, _bank_right_value, _bank_up_value, and _bank_down_value methods if you want to receive notification when the red ring is moved by a c...

Sure, you can send me the MIDI_Map.py file (the one you've modified), and send me the log.txt file as well - I'll try to take a look. Gmail is fine.

Re: NanoPad script - APC40 style

Madureira, Although the name may seem a bit misleading, you could probably get pretty close to the functionality you're looking for by using the FCB1020 script from my blog. The FCB1020 script provides basic APC40 emulation and is compatible with pretty much any control surface capable of sending MI...

Re: APC40 - Step Sequencer, Note Mode, 2nd Device Control, etc.

I tried the new version, but shouldn't audio effect map to all six knobs in a macro? (I'm thinking of guitar effect racks here). Also, again, I would like the drum rack matrix to start on C1 rather than E1, as it is on my machine now, absent me doing something wrong....... The EQ/Filter mode (Shift...

Re: APC40 - Step Sequencer, Note Mode, 2nd Device Control, etc.

Hey all, I've uploaded new version of the APC 64-40 script with the following minor revisions: -Added support for Audio Effect Rack device in Track Control Mode 3 (pretty much any EQ can now be used for Track EQ Mode); EQ buttons now also work with EQ8 and Audio Effect Rack devices; Filter & Cutoff ...

Re: APC40 - Step Sequencer, Note Mode, 2nd Device Control, etc.

Thanks for the kind words people. I like the idea of using the Cutoff/EQ setting, I just wish I could use my own FX Racks. Lastly, and stated previously I would love, LED feedback in Matrix User 8 mode. Do you see a DIY APC40 editor as a possibility? Some way to make an interface almost like automap...
