Re: APC40 - Note Mode, 2nd Device Control, EQ Mode & User Modes

Hey all,

A new version of the script is now available at my blog - featuring an all new 64 step sequencer.

Have fun.

Hanz

PS: Bug reports welcome.

Guess I won't be able to resist the urge to own an iPad for very much longer. Congrats to all involved - looking forward to great things.

Re: Creating midi clips using python

Not sure about creating clips, but manipulating MIDI clips with a python remote script is relatively easy (equivalent to your third option). You might want to have a look at my blog for some scripting basics; the clip manipulation part would done using the Live API.

Re: LOM.Navigator v1.0 - With *full* control surface support.

The "add_value_listener" thing: this is how Live knows to trigger a function whenever an internal mapped value changes that the notifying controller is mapped to (or something like that). I'm trying to find a way to link another callback to this same dictionary, so that we can also receive notifica...

Re: LOM.Navigator v1.0 - With *full* control surface support.

@ Hanz: I'm still having trouble wrapping my head around how the _Framework classes handle add_value_listener methods; I can add them manually myself, no problem, but can't figure out how to hijack the listeners that are already created by the scripts. It seems like the only component with a listen...

Re: LOM.Navigator v1.0 - With *full* control surface support.

We're starting to close the gap here. Congratulations Peter, the LOM Navigator is a great tool for exploring the functions and properties defined in the python remote scripts. Until such time as Ableton provides documentation for the ControlSurface object and its children, however, it is my opinion ...

Re: APC40 button behavior when midi mapped - lights

memes_33, Have you tried switching the APC40 output port Remote setting to "On"? Both the input and the output ports need to have Remote set to On, in order to get LED feedback for manual mappings. No special tricks required. Hanz @juanSOLO: The remote scripts handle the LED feedback, which makes th...

Re: APC20 and Live7.0.18

Okay, it's done. An APC20 remote script compatible with Live 7.0.18 can be downloaded from my blog, on the Support Files page. I don't have an APC20 to test with, but it seems to work alright with an APC40 (emulating an APC20). No special features, just backwards compatible.

Re: APC 40 Help...

You could also try the APC40_22 customized remote script, which can be found on the support files page of my blog. Shift + Track buttons provide access to six User/Note mode pages, in addition to default Clip Launch and Session Overview pages.

Re: APC20 and Live7.0.18

Shouldn't be too hard to get going (but you'll not get combination mode, since it is not supported by the Live 7 Framework). I'll give it a try tonight and let you know how it goes.

Re: APC20 and Live7.0.18

Unfortunately, I'm 99% sure that you're out of luck here. A MIDI remote script for automapping the APC20 is included with Live 8, but not with Live 7 (not as of 7.0.18 at any rate). Best, Hanz PS: I could probably modify the Live 8 APC20 script to make it compatible with Live 7.0.18, without too muc...

Re: working out if a track if part of a group?

So, ST8 has joined the Dark Side. Resistance is futile, as they say. (And here I was, looking at the M4L CS Step Sequencer, to see how it might be ported over to Python...)

Re: APC40 emulation and combination mode for FCB1010 & others

Combination Mode refers to linking two or more session highlight zones (red box, yellow box, etc.), so that they work and move together. The best know example is combination mode for the APC40/APC20 , where the APC20's session highlight automatically sets up right next to the APC40's session highlig...

Re: APC40 emulation and combination mode for FCB1010 & others

@Silverfish: Yes, pretty much any controller can be made to emulate and/or work in combination mode with the APC40, using this script.
@ST8: Thanks man - a high compliment, coming as it does from the master himself! :)

Re: APC40 emulation and combination mode for FCB1010 & others

I've added a customization option to handle controllers which use MIDI CC messages for buttons/pads. Should now work with Line 6 FBV series and other controllers which cannot send Note On/Off messages (with the limitation that in CC mode, button/pad assignments and slider/pedal assignments need to b...
