I would go with the saphire in a studio set up (which is what I currently have now after yamaha and m-audio cards for playing in clubs I use Native Instruments Audio 2 which is also a nice piece of kit.

If they were any bigger, you would have great difficulty following on from the previous DJ when playing in a club. Most club booths have limited footprint space so this size to me makes sense both from this and portability. When being used as a controller, I have not thought "it would be nice if it ...

I have a Saffire 6 and it does a great job. Also sounds very good for the money.

I use a E-SATA Drive running at 7200rpm. No issues at all with my HP Laptop

The Midi sync on Traktor is a bit suspect, so it may not be that easy to achieve. A lot of people are waiting for a rock solid solution for this on the Traktor forum

Yes, that should work. I use Stealth with Traktor and had a similar issue.

set it as the BPM in your default. You can set the default to start with vst's loaded or extra Midi or Audio tracks, so as to save time at each launch.
