Re: Need help with session view perfomance!

http://www.squared5.com/ This is a good lightweight program for converting to actual apple photo jpeg. Other people might have way better suggestions or solutions for what you are trying to do. Open up your video, export to quicktime under file, choose apple photo-jpeg for compression...choose your...

Re: Need help with session view perfomance!

What format are your video clips in? It's been a while since I've used vizzie, but if I remember correctly Photo JPEG would always yield the best results. Maybe this is the issue causing lag? You may also want to turn down your buffer as much as you can. More info can be found here: https://groups.g...

Re: What do you use for creating videos for promo?

https://obsproject.com/ This is a great option for screen recording and it's free. Looks really good, so i can simply capture the A/V and upload the rendered video to youtube? Yes. It will probably take a bit of tweaking to get the best results from your system, but I have had good luck with it.

Re: Something like Massive's performer that I can map to

I've considered building something like this. Sort of an LFO sequencer that steps through different waveshapes is what you're looking for? It's for sure possible to come up with something similar but I don't think there is anything similar to it right now. Could just come up with a step sequencer th...

Re: Force Max to Quit

I have this issue a lot. It's quite annoying. I've found the reason that you are sometimes unable to edit max patches when clicking the button after a force quit is that the old process hangs in the background. Don't know if you use mac or windows but you can see the max process still hanging out fo...

Re: Old School APC40 questions...

Interesting. Was hoping to avoid messing around on the script level. Are the session control component and individual button controls of the button matrix different between mk1 and mk2? How about the metronome button? These are pretty much the only things I'm taking control of currently. I came up w...

Re: Old School APC40 questions...

Thanks Darren. I guess I'm confused as to which components and controls I should be looking at. Probably be easier if I describe what exactly I'm trying to do. I have 16 live.dials which have automapping attributes of 1-16. So to access live.dials 1-8 you press shift+clip/track buttons. To access 9-...

Re: Old School APC40 questions...

Ooooo...see some javascript in there. I'll be taking a look. Think that's the next step I want to take in my education with this stuff. As it is, I'm definitely making some progress. (Apologies for the hardcore/acid techno) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pe8IhNqQik8 I don't know if I will actually ...

Re: saving disabled

you can't save .maxpat files This isn't true and I have tons of .maxpat files strewn about my hard drive to prove it. If this were the case we wouldn't be able to utilize bpatchers and poly~s. I think the key point is the max editor must be launched through Ableton. That's pretty much the extent of...

Old School APC40 questions...

Currently getting into modding the old school APC40. Just trying to make some cool sequencers to spice up my own work flow a bit. Since I would of course like to share whatever I come up with, I know that the control_surfaces number is going to be a variable on other peoples systems and I need to ac...

Re: Todays rant - More from Ableton. Blog. Shop.

Have you guys even read any of the interviews? The few I've read there's always a good amount of interesting info in regards to the artist's creative process and very little in the way of "buy my album". I mean, they're trying to sell their software. Seems like a smart move to me. Talk to the artist...

There are some interesting threads around here about Live's performance meter that might be worth looking up.
