Re: Is there anything wrong with this?

good idea, and probably used by a lot of people around, keep in mind the principles of recording and processing in order to avoid the sound quality loss.
for more infos on that visit the digital domain (www.digido.com) - great knowledge base.

Re: Can't AU Delete Plugins

just to ensure: MacOSX, isn't it? Didn't have to clear the au lib, but these clues may help: 1. check both libraries: user and OS 2. use rather the software designed to delete applications, and plugins, like: http://uapp.en.softonic.com/mac 3. rescan the plugin library in preferences let me know, if...

Re: From an 8-bar loop to ... a song

About Your questions: - I've been experimenting with this template structure since about half a year, but still I rather used to work with a default template or even one that was simpler than that. It was about having it a tabula rasa, which didn't suggest any solutions, and let me focus on the proc...

Re: Working on multiple projects at a time vs. just one?

Working on a more than one track at the time is imho the essence of Live heavy usage - there are periods when I'm starting even 4 or 5 different project a day. Some of them are just pure experiments, some are a kind of memos and so on. A the moment I've opened about 180 projects in 16 different clas...

Mastery in ambient remix.

Ladies and gentlemen, I'm not often putting things like this on the forums, but this one is one of the best remixes I've heard for many years. Especially when You compare this masterpiece with the original track. To give You the proper point of view on the thing, lets start with the original (which ...

Re: Preventing clicks in locator jumps

Which locator do You mean? The locator in a audio clip or a in an arrangement mode? In the first case there's not much You can do about it - it's a bit like jumping from a one place to another in song played from CD - if there is a phase difference in waveform between the places You put locator from...

Re: Stereo mixdown to master in realtime

and also there's always a need for dither, however it's to be added as the very last point of the process.

BTW - there's a way to midi map the device main switch (i.e. on/off toggle) - group to rack and linke the switch to an rack knob.

Re: Download Live 8 standard

That's because it's just one license - for L8 w/ an upgrade to L8Suite.

AFAIR there's no problem with downloading the standard L8 installation, in a matter of fact that's the way to update Live with the standard application install pack.

Re: Hard Disk Overload Indicator

wow, I haven't this one for a looong time.

Try clearing the cache (preferences> file folder> Decoding & Web Cache section)

Also check the space available on HDD, and if there's not enough, clean up the mess.

Maybe it will help.

Re: Mixing question (help would be appreciated)

Definitely You're about to enter the Labirynth. Instead of normalization, I'd suggest checking the vol levels of tracks and maybe readjusting them to get about -6db on master track atmost (i.e. peaks), then put in a master track very gentle compressor (slow attack ~50ms, and relase ~100ms, very gent...

Re: dropouts appeared in audio files after opening a session

Depending on a recording, You may work it around (in some cases). If the recording is taken from external source (the guitar, microphone etc.) then You should check the Live preferences in case of too small buffer size. If You recorded from internal source (i.e. insterted a audio track w/ routing fr...
