Re: Crunchy Dubstep tune

I am digging the intro and the vibe before 0:45 mark. Not too much into the harsh bass and noises. Not because I don't like that style, but I would keep it for another track. Then I like it again at about 2:30 mark. Cheers!

Re: APC-40 liveset (techno/electro)

Definitely sounds really cool. About half way through it. I wish there was a video to go along to see how the APC40 is used.

LP + PadK + PCR-300. How would you use them?

I picked up a LaunchPad yesterday and it is already great fun. Now I have 3 pieces of gear: Launchpad, PadKontrol and Roland PCR-300 with it's share of knobs, faders and buttons. I have a vague idea of how I can maximize their use in the studio and an even more vague idea of how to use it all live. ...

Re: Rishi's Launchpad Presets

Very impressive indeed. Getting a launchpad soon, but just going to trigger clips with it. Although wouldn't mind making it flash to the music

Re: Basic question about saving clips

Awesome thanks. That's kind of the setup I use now. Most of the samples were on CD so it was easy to just put them in a folder and bookmark it as one of the browsers. Started to see this 'problem' when I created a subfolder "my samples" and started dragging things in. Ableton has been pretty intuiti...

Re: Basic question about saving clips

ahh. collect all and save! Thanks a lot. Still seems like a workaround (a much better one though). You know how you can go to a folder and scroll through your 'snare' and 'kick' folder and preview each sound? I want to create a folder with my own cuts and chops from various songs and be able to quic...

Basic question about saving clips

Is there a quicker way to cut up clips and save them in one folder, just as one .wav file? I want to create a library and dropping in the clip to the browser doesn't work. Ableton creates a folder with the original file and a couple of subfolders. I've been cutting and pasting the .wav and .asd file...

Re: First attempts at producing :) Feedback welcome

Last month's Future Music goes into quite a lot of detail on how to make effective build ups and drops. Check it out if you can. I'm still pretty new to this myself, and the kind of music I try to do doesn't ask for too many intense builds. You can check it here: http://soundcloud.com/soultwist/take...

Re: First attempts at producing :) Feedback welcome

Sweet. Couldn't listen to Tits (can only listen if it's a download here at work). It's cool to see someone else who is just starting out. You have definitely made a lot of progress in a month. It's been a couple of months for me, but I don't think I even knew what side chain compression was in the f...
