Ok, I think I've tracked down this bug, It looks like it's caused by Ableton's simple delay. I've managed to put a single song in an arrangement with a simple delay (linked/100%wet and some delay added) In fact the gap at the beginning is exacltly the same as the delay set. (ie 1ms delay produces 1m...

I'm not using any external VST pluggins,

There are several active Ableton effects in the set.
EQ 4's
Flangers
Phasers
Auto filters
Simple delays

Putting a 2 second gap is not going to work in the middle of a mix album, or recording a live set.

5.2 STILL CHOPPING OFF TIME AT START OF RENDERED TRACKS !!!!

Ableton, I'm trying to render multiple MIXED tracks to disk. Rendering individual songs to disk zeros the beginning of the WAV file for 1-8ms. (ie chops off the wave form) This does not happen if a single track is added to an arrangement as a test case and the middle of the song is rendered. I have ...

How

So how do you enable the clip select in Mackie ?

When I enable the MIDI map mode there does not seem to be any area highlighted for the clip select.

Missing MIDI maps

I'm trying to set up my new Fader fiox controllers so that I don't need a keyboard or mouse.. Unfortunately there are two critical items that I cannot map. 1) Switching between the track's Clip display tab effects display tab 2) The delay time for each track Is there any reason why these are not ass...

What deck do you have ? Technics have quartz locked direct drive and are very accurate. 0.002% wow and flutter Any belt drive deck is going to be terrible by comparison. Belt drive also depends on the stability of the mains 50Hz signal which is often 0.5% wow and flutter. This can be solved with a m...

For some reason the DACs in most HiFi CD players are far superior to most computer card DACs........ You should investigate purchasing a quality interface (£700+) You need to spend more if the interface contains many channels and pre amps etc. (look at RME, Apogee, and all the known quality vendors)...

Just get a good quality simple analog mixer
(the old Allen & Heath models are good)

Then get a good USB/Firewire DAC/interface for the computer.
Plug it's output through the main mixer.

And buy a couple of these to control the laptop....

Pentium M is much better than it looks.
The new core duo pentium M is as fast as an AMD X2

Also, if you've spent all that cash you should really consider upgrading your interface.

While ok for the price, the DAC's in the Mbox 2 are not exactly Hi-Fidelity

This is ok for me, I manually check all my warped tracks anyway, so using beat mode is fine.

Once the tracks have been warped, why do you need to call out to the external software anyway. ie at playback tme all the warp markers are in place and you should no longer depend on the external software,

Why so few bug fixes in 5.2

We've all seen loads of bug reports on the forums andmany of us have reported issues.

Why after so many weeks since 503 are there so few bug fixes in 5.2

Is this just a port or are Ableton taking their quality seriously ?
