Re: Help With Vocals

Put your trust in sample boutiques. sometimes there are free sample packs with vocals. e.g. http://www.loopmasters.com/ give your spoken word a try. these is the base for house music. in live you have so many abilities and effects to transform your voice into everything... at least nothing is better...

Re: Live's sound Breaking up

increase the soundcard latency to a value of 2^n:= 2^9=512, 2^10=1024 etc till it is not crackling or produces drop outs. compare the latencies from logic and live. maybe a difference is responsible for the drop outs in the one hand and for stability in the other hand. install the most actual driver...

Re: online schools???? any body

Hi Guys, online courses are nice in fact of concentrated and replayable material. I'm since 2010 a (feelance) teacher of a "real" course "digital music production with Ableton Live". I have to say that even a 4h course (one a month with one course) with 8~10 people and a relative good structured les...

Re: MP3 export

To catch the main thread theme: In my opinion implemented mp3-export is unneccesary, because of: - cost intesive in the way to hire programmers - licenses have to be payed- at least by us users - unprofessional, because in a professional process the song is never produced, mixed and mastered by the ...

Re: Basic Mastering tools would be Nice

Hey HJYoung,

phase metering you can get 4 free here:
http://www.fluxhome.com/products/freewares/stereotool

And with stereo shaping, you have with "utility" and "EQeight" infront of a chain two very powerful tools to work on a stereo file.

midi for group folding, grap "stop free"-buttons in sessionv

Hi Abletons, as live performer it would be nice, if a user could set a midi button onto the group fold button. Also for arrangements in session-view, the marked stop-buttons-free zone (strg/ cmd +e) should move with the marked clips. So the arrangement can move, if some new clips were added parallel...

Re: how do I organize mutiple takes of the same measure?

loop the selected area in arrange view. mark the beginning of the loop with the thin orange blinking bar. then go to session view. everytime you hit spacebar you start from that marker (or remember the bar times in the play/stop/rec zone) now you can record serveral takes as loops in session view on...

Live in arrangement view for producing and creative stuff Live in session view for live acts/ more creative stuff and mix/ master stuff it´s the best not to look at the arrangement when I mix! looking to the automation stucks, because you know what is coming... --> my super ego says: you should list...

Re: Buying new computer..what should i get??? intel i5, i7?

If you want to have best bang for bug, then wait for AMD Scorpius(Sockel AM3+) Platform and Bulldozer CPUs.
Take 8 cores for less than intels pricing.
at least RAM is as much important as CPU and HDD speed.

Re: I want to know how I could get this heavy dub chord stab

Create a Pad, bit agressive but short and dreamy.
Put a Vocoder on it.
put on send/ return delay+ verb with more feedback
EQ it
--> ready :mrgreen:

Re: Ableton recording limit?

It's not an Ableton recording limit, Wav and Aiff have filesize limits. Aiff is limited to 2GB (apparently) the AIFF file format cannot handle audio file recordings larger than 2 GB" (Logic user manual, p. 441). Wav can handle up to 4gb The WAV format is limited to files that are less than 4 GB, be...

Re: Help: Use a Limiter live?

just put a limiter on the master. the standard preset should take -0.3dB on the output with 1ms~3ms lookahead. the more lookahead the more it sounds muddy. try to avoid red volume graphs for the separate channels. but also try to reach the peak. dipping the 0dB line is ok, going over a bit is ok too...
