 Don't leave me hangin' brotha man! Wass' this Bidule stuff you're talking about? I'm considering popping $700 on Logic for sole purpose of using VSTi's (I tried Reaktor Session and just about choked on my spliff!)!!!! I just found out about Tracktion from another thread, now this Plogue thingy...

I agree that Live is as beautiful to look at as it is to play with, but don't you miss the ability to run VSTi's when abandoning Logic?

I've been using ProTools for 3 years and I will firmly stand behind the comments that it is the easiest and most intuitive way to record - and particularily - edit audio. However, I'm thinking of giving Logic a whirl for the same reasons the initial poster has. I want to start using Reaktor, Battery...

I never do 'first class' reverb, that is for the few times I do use reverb (more a fan of small delays, myself). What else is there to do to make sure the lappy is "set up" properly? Seems I've covered all the basics...

Hi,

I'm on OSX.2.8 with Live 3.

Thanks for your replies, I'll look for that "20 tracks" thread.

Powerful Powerbook - Live still sluggish

Don't know why that is. I've had a 1.25 ghz G4 Powerbook for a few months now, 1gig of RAM, runs ProTools and Reason like butta'... Enter Live 3, a soon as I have say, 6 clips who hit the same spot, the meter shoots to around 90%, add one more clip to test, bang, drop-outs and distortion clips, just...

Hmm...it just occured to me that when I upgraded to 3, I never bothered trashing my Live 2. Could this be the reason, some kind of cross-file misfires? As suggested, I'll go ahead and repair the permissions, hope it helps.

Just now I experienced a new bug. First, I got one of those Windows-style of error messages telling to restart my Mac by holding down the power button, with a bunch of coded letters and numbers at the bottom of the box (all it needed was the blue background). Upon restart, I reboot Live, start worki...

Live 3: Unexpectedly Quit!

I just recently upgraded from 2 to 3 and today, after a couple of minutes into my session, Live just vanished, with an error message saying "The application Live has unexpectedly quit, no other programs have been affected". I re-open it, work for a few seconds, same thing, over and over. What's goin...

I quite like the new Plastikman, but I have to agree that there is nothing that innovative about it. It is what it is as far as I'm concerned, mimimal techno, nothing more. I think someone like Murcof is truly tapping into innovative territory, his music is minimal and incredibly interesting. www.mu...

Quicktime support in Live?

I did a search before posting this, thinking for sure someone must have asked for this before, but found nothing. I can certainly benefit from QT support, as I not only use Live for my own compositions, but also for writing jingles. My main sequencer is ProTools, which would allow me to do this, but...

I have to agree with fakeproject. What more do you need when you can pipe Reason in Live. Whatever happened to doing the most with what you have, and the combination of these 2 apps is sonically lethal, there isn't much you can't do. If recording audio from live instruments is need, then slave these...

Exactly, the Mbox is an analog 2 in - 2 out interface, with a spdif I/O. Furthermore, you can't recording using the spdif and analog inputs simultaneously. Inserts are simply that, insert jacks. They are meant to be used with a TRS "Y" cable allowing you to patch an eq or compressor into the signal ...
