playback glitches?

I absolutely love Live, been using it extensively but have failed to ask why in so many instances, playback seems to hiccup, even if there are no more than 2 or 3 samples hitting the same spot, and this on some pretty fast Macs (one is a QS 867 with 640mb of RAM runing OS 9.2.2 / Live 2.1.1, the oth...

What would be cool for my interest would be to render a song track by track that could be easily imported into ProTools for mixing. As soon as Live supports AudioUnits or or becomes a front end for ProTools, preferably both, I'm in. Thanks umm...perhaps I'm misunderstanding your question, but with ...

help with old vocal sample & warp mode

Hi all I'm doing a remix of an old 50's song, fortunately the beat is faint but the vocal's syllables don't always fall 'on the beat'. I've had Live for a few months now and this project is rather challenging. I understand this is where the warp markers do their thing, but it seems it's a skill on i...

I'm not using the card to monitor the signal, I use an external mixer. Any reference I made to the M-Audio Control Panel is simply to see if there's a setting I overlooked in regards to my issue. Thanks for your replies.

M-Audio 2496 + Live

I've had this card for over a year, but so far have only been using it's outputs for Reason and such, never used it to record with. When I got Live I decided to set it up for recording audio into the program, keeping the Digi001 only for ProTools. I haven't had any major gripes with the card until r...

well harb, nothing seems to remedy my issue. Not a "Save As", nor trying the methods described above in a new session have yielded any hoop jumping emotions. Just now, I tried removing unreferenced samples from a brand new session, Mac locked up, got the Error Type 10 --> Restart (with a lovely bomb...

I trashed any file or folder referencing Live 2.0, and only kept 2.0.3, trashed preferences, but still, I get the same problem.
"Can't delete file ___", I then click 'no', quit Live, followed by the dreaded "error 1728" -> freeze -> restart.

Even doing a 'Save As' didn't seem to help.

these are older tracks, made before Live was around, but so it goes...
I'm re-recording a few of these and will have a dozen new ones up there soon, on a newly designed website.

assigning key commands

Sifting through the manual, I can't seem to find a way to assign a key command in Live. I always work in the Arranger view, never in Session, and I'd like to assign, say, the 3 on the numerical pad to start recording. If I clcik on the "key" button top right, everything turns red and I feel I'm half...

thanks for your reply, harb, I have the 2.0 boxed version, then downloaded the 2.0.3 upgrade. Are you suggesting that I revert to the 2.0 in order for this to work? Otherwise, you recommend 'save as' to help actually delete the unused samples? Interesting, I'll give it a shot and see what happens. T...

Dear Ableton, I just spent $300 of my hard-earned cash on your seemingly incredible Live! software. For the most part, it is indeed quite beautiful and does what it claims to accomplish. However, while you encourage your loyal customers to send in any technical questions via email, please take a min...

I used to own Event 20/20's, then Mackie HR 824's Whoa hat, you chose the Alesis over some pretty high-end competition! I know, when I was merely considering selling the Macks for the M1's, I received a fair share of criticism, some ridicule, some encouraging. Indeed, the room is the most imp...

Is it common for Ableton to not reply to a customer's email? it's been nearly a week, I still get lock-ups and "Error Type 18" messages when I choose Yes at the unreferenced samples option. Is it just an OS 9.2 thing?
