Re: Renegade - cinematic dubstep choon

Not bad. Think you have something sounding 'of the moment' and suitable for a console game advert or the like :)

Not bad that, has a reasonable amount of variation in it. Look forward to the finished article :)

Re: My first track

Not bad for a first effort :) Check out automation on the filters of your synth to vary the sound as it goes through the track. Bass is normally considered 100-250hz, whereas sub bass is anything below 100hz. It's always good to layer the bass a bit, have some sub, some 'normal' and some higher freq...

Re: Fully deleting a song in Ableton?

Deleting songs wont free up much disk space, certainly not the project files as they're normally quite small seeing as they're only referencing and mapping other samples and the like. I have all my samples on a second disk and rarely save anything into the projects own folders. When creating new stu...

Re: How to control violin vibrato?

You need to map a couple of the macros - Motion is the level of vibrato and Motion Speed is the intensity of vibrato, you'll need to adjust and automate both to get a more realistic sound. You might also want to add a Filter Delay set with low time settings to give a little more impression of multip...

Re: How to record midi to audio

Right, see what you're after. You've already got the midi recorded so you'll need to route that back into the Roland to trigger it's sounds and then have that audio come back into Live. Should be able to sort that with a half decent audio interface - someone with more know how than myself should be ...

*lol*

You can still customise it of course - probably worth looking into quieter fans and soundproofing to keep it's interference to a minimum

Re: Best keyboard controller? Using Cakewalk A300 right now.

This forum is FULL of people that seem to have loaded themselves up with software, controllers, computer hardware, interfaces, monitors but have forgotten to actually sit down and actually learn anything. I think we're all guilty of that one to some degree or other  I initially set myself up ...

If all else fails, you can export the stereo clip in mono and drag it back in :)

Grief installing Zebralette...

Odd one here. Having some trouble installing Zebralette on my system. I'm running Windows 7 Pro x64 and Live 8.2.1. Initially the install program says it can't find my VST library. I did change it from default and set up Live accordingly, but when I choose the 'custom' option and drill down my path ...

Re: How to record midi to audio

Not done it myself, so I'm sure someone will have a better idea, but logic (little l) suggests you need to record it as audio and not midi. Anything midi will just act like a controller so you need to record the audio. Can you hear the sounds from the Roland through Live or just your audio interface...
