I'm not sold on the dj1. I own two lv1's and an lx1 ..... I'd buy a kenton control freak or another lv1 or something..... just dont think the dj1 is a worthwhile purchase. maybe for traktor since its layout seems to mirror traktors somewhat.

yes sure, but there is a fine line between technological-wank and good music, and it is so easy to find yourself dancing ever so precariously between the two.

beware!

Don't you think the guy on the picture seems like he is just learning how to ride a bike??? It may be just my impression. lol. hehe , funny you mention it because on the gigbag site theres a caption beneath that picture stating he fell of his bike, and fucked his legs and bike - but the 20" i...

if you record with record-quantisation off, shouldnt it record whatever groove you feed it ?

everyone raves about the akai mpc's groove quantise....if you are serious about groove quantise, you should play with one of those for a while and see if you can keep your cash in your pocket

I'm in no rush to fry the ibook.. i got a jansport laptop bag from a few years back. its fairly huge for a backpack, allowing you to carry a massive laptop in one compartment and giving you 3or4 others to load with other stuff...... it would be possible to have the ibook open within t...

Re: MacBook Pro users/testers? (Live 6.0 content)

I'd get the new Intel iMac's if portability wasn't an issue for me (I plan to play live - hence the program I [we] use). I believe the imacs are plenty portable. When I gig I have some other equipment to bring with me anyways, So I will always be relegated to having to use a vehicle of some sort to...

are you gonna stray from the x0xb0x beaten path, and maybe mod it too as you build it ?

how many hours do you think it takes to assemble ?

dirtystudios wrote:All you have to do to run it with the lid closed, is use an external keyboard to wake it up after you close it.
so you mean it can run software this way, recording audio while its closed?

seems strange you need an external keyboard to wake it up, shouldnt the lid opening take care of that?[/code]

I've got the mic, the ad/da that can use firewire buspower, now all I need is for the ibook to operate whilst its 'closed' ..... any input appreciated! edit: i suppose i could put a matchstick be...

can you change the preferences so it doesnt go to sleep when you shut the lid ?
(someone mentioned on another thread this is what happens with macbooks)
