by default, all of your samples in drum rack are loaded into a simpler for each one... hence the name sample player... if you want to just reverse the beat, and not each individual sample, then u can record the drum loop and reverse inside the clip editor unless you have Live Suite... then you have ...

if your tracks already sound "dull" or really "unpro", you first have to learn better techniques, and the guides by tarekith are really wise.. The dynamics one seems very useful to me, something i somewhat overlooked... Im gonna work on getting a specific spot in the spectrum for every sound to hop...

i would have to agree, you can do almost anything you would ever need in ableton suite, with the exception of a few... i had the same issue, i didnt want to use the instruments in suite so went out and got Komplete 6... got really good with massive/fm8/absynth/battery, still havent used reaktor and ...

well i guess you just realize that the dj is spinning other peoples stuff, but your are creating something original on the fly. or you could get a mastering plugin like ozone, and 'master' your clips and stuff. that's why i refuse to dj! though most ppl i know just consider me a dj because they don...

being an Native Instruments user, I got Komplete and haven't looked back... so ya get Reaktor, I haven't used it much but it sounds nice... but I have to say... Operator is a nice synth, even analog if you use it right... I always thought they sucked, then I got better at synthesizers after using NI...
