BTW : In arrange view, you need to control / option drag the clip so it creates an audio file and leaves the midi clip in place if that's what you want.

Freeze MIDI track > Drag clip to New Audio Track > Unfreeze MIDI track?

Yip, just tried it, that works and only takes a second or two.

BTW this works in session view too.

Pointless. But if you are committed to following the pointless herd......bid way over the odds for one. It's just a load of buttons.

thats exactly what you described :) Hi, To be exact, I think that what dmacintyre described was "keep the clip the same size/position and slip the audio within it". If so, here is one of the most unknown Live features: - In the detail view, select either the start or end marker - Hold the SHIFT key...

The end of the region moves under this method. In Cubase and pro tools the beginning and end of the region stays put and the audio slips around inside the clip container. Maybe I'm missing something.

Oh yes, never noticed that. It's not quite what I meant but it is close enough.

Thanks

Slip Audio In Arrangement View?

Is it possible to keep an audio clip in the same place in arrangement view but slip the audio contained within it (assuming it is a portion of a longer clip) back and forth a la Cubase and Pro Tools?

Thanks

FS : Live 6, Operator, Sampler $400 the lot

I'm not using Live much now that Logic 8 is around so it's probably best if I concentrate on one host (for a whole variety of reasons). Not sure if it's transferrable but I am also in the beta circle for Live 7 and that's currently on my account. BTW, it's download versions of everything. $400 all i...

No idea about the pink oboe but I had heard rumours that a purple piccolo was on the cards.

I think we have to accept that this is an upgrade that will suit some more than others. It looks like if you don't need the few functional improvements it brings, wait for the next one.

You got the Bee Gees in my head now... Ahh ahh ahh ahh staying with Live staying with Live I suppose I'm easy to please. I saw video export and the Spectrum device and I was all happy. I'm sure 7 will have me experimenting with side chaining and fun stuff like that. When I was mastering my last alb...

I'm staying with Live....

Having posted about my disappointments in L7, I have decided that am going to stay on the Live train. Ableton can thank Cycling 74 and their own previously good record for this as the potential for joint future developments between these two innovative companies probably outweighs the slightly under...

Adding to the L7 critique...

...I'm not that impressed. To be honest, I'm thinking about bailing on Live as the latest Logic Pro Studio has answered quite a few workflow questions I had asked of it. Taking into account that Live is still left wanting everywhere with regards to audio and midi in a studio situation (compared to L...
