Re: Why use guitar rig?

Guitar Rig Player has become one of my go to plug ins for a lot of different things. To me it feels a bit like the Reason rack in plug-in form, which is amazing.

Re: Ok, so why pads (MPC / Maschine / padKONTROL) over Keys?

Interesting thread. I never understood why one would use the pads over the keys either. And this sounds just right: The main reason why I picked up an MPD for percussion was fear that I would damage my keyboard. As for the MPKs, their pads are so crap.. Hope that the MPDs are much more sensitive.. ...

Re: Ok, so why pads (MPC / Maschine / padKONTROL) over Keys?

For me it's both the bounce back percussion pads give you when you hit them, which makes playing quick rolls easy, and the fact that all pads are equal, unlike the piano keyboard where the black and white keys are positioned differently and feel different. There's an extra effort involved in moving ...

The Lo & Hi Exciter rack does the distortion on the highs in parallel trick (thanks to Ill Gates for that one). It also lets you do the same for the low end, which seems to often tighten them up. Give it a try.

Re: How Do You Guys Rate the Tascam FW-1082 Audio Interface ? ??

Wish I could help more on the sound quality side. I also have an original ultralite, which I upgraded to from a Tascam US-122 and the sound quality difference really hit me. Biggest change was the amount of detail the ultralite gives in reverb tails compared to the US-122. Don't think that's of much...

Re: How Do You Guys Rate the Tascam FW-1082 Audio Interface ? ??

Back when I worked on retail I got to test a few of them, they're pretty good and having the control surface is really useful and can get quite fun. This was back in 06, so I'm not sure about driver stability and compatibility nowadays. Also, they've been out for quite a while, so you could probably...

+1 on turning down the Massive or Vintage Warmer output, you're leaving no headroom for further processing.

Re: What do you cats use to record your mixes ?

If what I'm doing requires me to stop Live's transport but keep recording, I put Guitar Rig player on the Master channel and use its tape recorder to capture Live's output.

Re: MPD 32 question

You can program automap functionality using User Remote Scripts, which give you the ability to map the first 8 channel faders in your session and automatically map Drum Pads and Knobs to the selected device. I'm pretty sure Live comes with an automap using a default template for the MPD32, but I nev...

Re: there's no good social media site for music

I think the best thing to do is have your own own site and thus, your own internet presence and just link people off any social network to your stuff. Social networks and their features are built according to their owner's priorities, and at some point you'll run into those limitations which often a...

Re: No Answer in Answers. I need to write a '/' in session view

You could use the Keyboard Viewer. Go to System Preferences, there to Language & Text, and to Input Sources. On the list to the left, activate the Keyboard & Character viewer (you can also activate different language layouts for your keyboard). Now, make sure Show Input menu in menu bar is ticked. T...

Re: N.I. Traktor 10 for recording? Or Komplete Audio 6

TBH I haven't tried it with anything other than turntables. The line ins are meant for CD players and the like, so you should be fine if you have some way to control the output level of your synths you should be fine. Inputs can be used as mono and stereo pairs in Ableton, you just enable/disable mo...

Re: N.I. Traktor 10 for recording? Or Komplete Audio 6

I have a Traktor Audio 6. The problem would be it's really designed for use in a DJ rig, so it doesn't have some functions needed for studio recording. The big drawbacks I can think of is it's lack of Direct monitoring, which in a recording soundcard lets you listen to your input straight to your ou...

http://www.teamfortress.com/ Team Fortress 2 is Free to Play now. I'm having too much fun with this. Love TF 2!!!!! especially the demoman or the engineer I've been learning how to play the Spy and it's awesome. Often my issue with online FPSs is that you often die and have no idea how or why.
