Installing Live 9.1 from Live 8

Hey guys, I've read some info about the best way to install Live Suite 9.1 (upgrading from Live 8). Some of it is not so clear. I'm looking to save as much space as possible. I don't want double copies of the instruments, effects, racks, presets, etc. Can anyone recommend the best way to do the inst...

Re: SL Ultimate Control (new custom script for Novation SL)

I just bought the Ableton 9.1 upgrade last night. Before I install the software, and Roman's 9.1 script, is there anything I should know or be aware of? Any hiccups, etc that people encountered? Many thanks! This script has changed everything for me in Live 8, and I'm happy it's available in LIve 9!

Re: Hoarding Samples

Sometimes this really sucks, because I'll go into the lab to make music, but instead I'll browse through sites I've saved that have a sound or two I like. Thanks. This is where your problem lies, workflow! Why did you not use Soundflower to resample directly, when you visited the site the first tim...

Re: Granular synth / time stretching rack [Sampler, 8.1]

This looks great, but I had a problem downloading it.

When I double-click, or try to drag it into Live, I get an error message at the bottom saying,

"Only audio effects can be placed in this kind of track"

I'm running Live 8.4.1.

any ideas?

Re: Sampler advice - Bonobo?

It still doesn't sound great. It doesn't get time stretched as I go up. Again, if you're aiming for the early Bonobo sound, you don't need the timestretching. One could even say, you shouldn't use it if you're going for that methodology :) Interesting, I always equate his sound (or any sample-heavy...

Re: Sampler advice - Bonobo?

The root note is f sharp. When you set the notes to have f sharp as the root they sounded good. That was because you had got it right. Whats the confusion? It still doesn't sound great. It doesn't get time stretched as I go up. I guess I'm looking for other people's methods/advice on achieving this...

Re: Sampler advice - Bonobo?

If each sample is of a different note in its original form, you must discern what that note is and then Tell Sampler "Hey, this is the original pitch of this sample." Using the root note setting. Otherwise Sampler doesn't try to figure it out. It assumes your sample is C, and transposes everything ...

Re: Sampler advice - Bonobo?

The biggest thing to set is the Root note, that R. I forget the shortcut, you hold a key while dragging it. Or you can change it in the sample tab on the bottom left. Root note tells Sampler what the original pitch of that sample is. pardon my ignorance, but that would F# right? Since that's the or...

Do I need to pull the ends of the keyzone back to just assign one note to it? And do that for each key?

Re: Sampler advice - Bonobo?

Time stretching in Sampler has long been requested, but we are still waiting.... But the workaround isn't that hard: Take your sample, put it in a clip slot, go to the warp section, choose the warp mode you like, duplicate clip as many times as you need notes to play, turn the Transpose knob in eac...

Sampler advice - Bonobo?

Im wanting to make instruments of my samples. For example, taking one sound from a record - and make into an instrument that I can play on the keys. I'm sure you all know what I'm talking about. So - Sampler can not do this - because it does not time stretch the samples as you go up and down from th...

Re: New Bass Guitar Instruments

looks awesome but I bought it, and nowhere does it say that it's for Live 9 only. Well I'm on Live 8 and it doesn't work.
9$ wasted.
