Re: pack vs pak

The difference is that pak will send a list out whenever any input receives a message, while pack will only trigger on the leftmost input. I wouldn't say pak replaces pack, but they're useful in different situations. For instance, you might want to attach sliders to all the inputs of the pack, but o...

Re: User Remote Scripts not working in 8

Can anyone confirm that they have automap/user remote scripts working reliably in 8? Is there a bug about this that I haven't come across?

Thanks!

Re: Arm buttons send out gibberish over midi.

Hi, In the middle of debugging this. So far: * set Max as an output of Live, verify that audio is being sent (both midi notes and ccs on stop/start) * set up 4 blank tracks (1 audio, 3 midi), and assigning the track arm button to CCs 20-23. The tracks respond to midi from Max, but do not send anythi...

Arm buttons send out gibberish over midi.

I've been using a max patch to handle record in ways that Live doesn't let me, and it relies on getting messages when the track arm buttons are turned on/off. In 7 it worked fine, in 8, after I map the arm buttons to MIDI CC, some of the buttons send nothing, and some send ~100 random controller mes...

User Remote Scripts not working in 8

As the title suggests, I have several user remote scripts, which don't work in 8, although they did in 7. Some of them *sometimes* work. Anyone else having issues with this? Any fixes? As far as I can see, the default config file is the same. (Which is a bit of a shame, as there's lots more stuff th...

More automap control surface slots, and more mappings

I've been using the control surfaces extensively, as using midi learn quickly becomes impossible in a live situation, and I'm feeling really limited by only having 6. Its not that I have thousands of controllers (I've got 3) but that I like to have different bits of the controllers control different...

I've got a trigger finger; it's quite happy to transmit CCs and pitch bend as well as notes. In Enigma, you need to set the Note part of the pad to a note, and the cc section to something else (enigma is a ridiculously unfriendly piece of software to be releasing. It belongs in 1980 ;) ). Each pad h...

Ableton have told me that these buttons work differently because of something under the hood. The workaround is to use note on/off instead.

Track arm buttons do not switch correctly with MIDI CCs

I'm trying to turn track arming on and off - leaving them all on is not an option. The manual states that switches get turned on for CC values > 64 and off for values < 64. This works for most buttons. However, for the track arm and solo buttons, certain values have no effect, and certain values tog...

Hiya, I've just been playing with my DTX and Live, and what I've done is change the assignments of the pads on my dtx to make it more live friendly. Step-by-step: - press "trigger" on the DTX - press "page down" to screen 11 (Note=1st) - tap a pad, then use the jog dial to choose a note. - after ass...

Don't know what Bome's are/is, but I like the keystroke idea! I'll have a play - thanks very much.

To me it sounds like the ideal situation would be to have 2 MIDI interfaces One only for his keyboard, with 'remote' control disabled, And one for your controllers You'd have to run him the special foot pedal control off your controller side Yup, that's what I'm doing. Unfortunately, he still has t...

OK, I've gone back to automap, and it doesn't really do what I need. Limitations are: - can only control 1 channel's parameters at once; I'm getting round this by having a load of different automap templates for the same device, each of which only assign a few knobs, so I can lock each template to a...

1. Clips on returns for automation 2. OSC 3. More complete automap implementation (more controllable parameters, more control surfaces can be assigned - why stop at 6 surfaces and 8 channels?) 4. Overdub on audio 5. Not crashing ;) 6. More slots on Impulse 7. More automation lanes 8. Network tetris-...

Use automap or mackie emulation mode, millions of references to what that means on this board. Then you never have to assign a knob. Won't really work for me, unless I've misunderstood what they do;I want to have knobs set up which affect specific parameters of many different sounds, and I don't th...
