Re: Ableton Live - Recording a full band?

No problems recording full bands here.
Live is perfectly capable of banning audio to hd.
I prefer to turn the grid off when editing.

Assign three knobs for attack, pitch and decay and you should be fine, and flexible.
For a deepish sound you´ll need some bass-power, though. You should think of bringing a subwoofer...

Re: Anyone used the Akai EIE Pro sound card yet?

Downside: the switches are a little bit stiff (imo). Driver installation was flawless -> plug & play Lowest...

Re: hihats suck

Set up a simple straight groove -> kick on 1 & 3 snare on 2 & 4 hats on 8th notes Turn the grid off Select all the hihat offbeats (the &s) and move them some ticks (some more or some less) backwards off the grid. Compare with them being straight on the grid. Try the same with moving the hats forward...

Re: Anyone used the Akai EIE Pro sound card yet?

The buddies at my local equipment shop gave me one (EIE) to test it and write a review.
Anything you want to know in particular?
Maybe I´ll give it a shot this afternoon (in about six hours).
