Thanks Ableton, I got your email. I'll post it here in case anyone else is interested: "OS X dynamically allocates tasks to the processor. Live as standalone: Generally the GUI is handled by one processor and the other tasks by the other processor. Live as ReWire Slave: The ReWire Master handles the...

Ableton?

Live's use of dual processors in OSX. Stand alone and rewired with Logic. Which processors get used in these two scenarios?

Can you help here please?

With Logic there are a couple of tricks to force tracks to use the 2nd CPU. One of these is to put a so called "I/O plug in" on a track, assign it an output, then bypass it. In OS9 you can see the CPU meters change when you do this. In OSX you can see TOP going to a higher figure before the computer...

How does Live balance usage of Dual CPUs in OSX?

Could someone say how Live uses dual CPUs on a G4 in OSX - both in stand alone and rewired to Logic? What I have been able to discern is that in OS9 and rewired with Logic 6.1, Live uses processor B entirely. In OS9 Logic shows dual meters bars for system performance. Therefore I was able to easily ...

Well that wasn't really a suggestion, steve-o. The point was that you can't grab all those warp markers as one, and move them.

Have you got the mpc midi grooves - which can be loaded into Logic to make swing quantises from 50-75%?

If not, I can email them to you.

Hi steve-o Thanks for the tip. I've never really used the Yahoo Logic forum. I don't find those Yahoo forums very easy to navigate/use and tend to use them as a last resort. Also I tend to find my volume of junk mail increases whenever I've been around Yahoo (same goes for my housemate). Have you co...

Rewire issues in OS9 and OSX with Logic 6.1

Logic 6.1 and Live 2.1.1 in OS9
Can't use any MIDI in Logic due to Stuck notes. Also quitting Live crashes Logic's MIDI. Have to restart Logic.

Logic 6.1 and Live 2.1.1 in OSX

For the warping, you mean? Yes indeed. How nice that would be. Currently Live can timestretch loops that ALREADY have a swing feel to them, but it's pretty much impossible to accurately change the positions of warp markers to change a straight feel to a swing feel. What might work though would be th...

Loop Selection Key Command and Locators.

When I try to use the Loop selection key command (apple+L) the locators bounce to the selection, then they bounce back to their previous location. However when I select Loop Selection from the menu it seems to work OK. This is whilst using Rewire with Logic 6.1 - I haven't tried this stand alone yet...

How much RAM should I assign to Live in OS9?

How much RAM should I assign to Live in OS9? I have 1.5 GB in my machine. If I'm running Live in Rewire slave mode with Logic 6.1 (which has 500 Meg assigned), how much should I assign to Live then? Suggestions for a better Click

Suggestions for a better Click. Load in an audio file of a click into a clip slot. You can have an assortment of clicks to chose from. Just use up a track for your click - a "Click Track." If you've got a drum machine or such like, just record some stick or cowbell (or whatever you like) sounds into...

Thanks for that link, Alex. Funnily enough I did do a search for mach-o in Google and seemed to come up with a rather unhealthy amount of Vilage People related sites. Then I did a search for "mach-o" and my search results were a little more to the point. But your link was very helpful...
