Re: My favorite ambient drones

sorry number 2. I like to find a cool pad, rack it up. duplicate the chain, pan hard L and R and add a bandpass to each chain running opposite of each other. I then find a sample of something (city or nature recordings) and time stretch them as far as they will go. cut out some cool part and load i...

My favorite ambient drones

Hello!

Quick questions:

1. How to create these type of drones?

2. How do your favorite ambient drones sound like?

Appreciate the support!

Re: Cutting out pieces of the audio (i.e. drums) when warping

Thanks for confirming that. I wrote a feature request too though, hoping it might make its way into Live.

See you later!

Re: Cutting out pieces of the audio (i.e. drums) when warping

Talking about audio tracks in Session. You can cut out parts from Arrange like you say, but it would be much more convenient to do this from the get-go (when warping). Plus I'm not too comfortable with the idea of being limited by the Arrange view - I prefer the modularity and flexibility of keeping...

Cutting out pieces of the audio (i.e. drums) when warping

When warping (or when warping in sampler), it'd be cool to be able to cut out pieces of the audio (i.e. drums) and then i.e. carefully warping the surrounding parts to make up for the gap.

So far I take it one can only do this in the arrangement view?

Thanks!

Cutting out pieces of the audio (i.e. drums) when warping

When warping, is there a way to cut out pieces of the audio (i.e. drums) and then carefully warping the surrounding parts to make up for the gap?

Or would this be a feature request?

Thanks!

Curious what sort of beat trickery this is?

Is it just some dude going crazy with Beat Repeat or is there more to it?

Many thanks!

Re: Best kicks I ever heard -- looking for advice

Thanks a lot dude! Interesting liveset, taught me a great many things I didn't know, but we still got a long way to go. Condra got amazingly close; I've tried messing around with the frequency, tone and attack of his Operator A, layering it with reverbed versions and other filtered versions but over...

Re: Best kicks I ever heard -- looking for advice

Hi Marra What you had didn’t have enough pitchbend or tone. Those deep kicks are usually made from sine waves pitching down quickly. Here is an Operator preset which is going in the right direction. I added a bit of eq and saturation for that Flying Lotus flavour... http://www.zexualhealing.com/fil...

Best kicks I ever heard -- looking for advice

Hello! Anybody know how to recreate these two types of kicks? I've tried my best in Operator, tried my best layering various types of drums, various ways of parallel processing, as well as all sorts of analog outboard gear but I can't get anywhere close. http://home.no/reddvinylene/kicks_1.mp3 http:...
