Re: Geist as VST in Ableton
The Engines in Geist are assigned to different midi channels so if you wanna trigger engine 2 all you do is create another midi track & route the midi output of it to the track with Geist & select midi channel 2. So if your using all 8 engines you'd have to have 8 separate midi tracks routed to Geis...

Re: OH NO Not the Dreaded "Which Monitors" Question again!!
GENELECS EVERTIME There seem to be a lot of Genelec fans here but there's a few reasons I went for Adams over Genelec. The main one being that the equivalent to the A5X's which is the 8030a's are over £300 more expensive & on paper at least don't have as much low end as the A5X's. I've also read a ...

Re: OH NO Not the Dreaded "Which Monitors" Question again!!
I ended up getting a pair of Adam A5X's. So far I'm very impressed with them, I only have them about a week now so they'll take a wee bit of getting used to (I'm pretty comfortable with them already though) but I'll tell you what, they sound waaayyyy better than the Behringer B2031P's I had.

Just did a bit more work on this track, I think I'm starting to get used to the Adam A5X's (just got them last week)

Crazy D Beat Bounce (Oldskool lofi-ish DnB influenced tune)
http://soundcloud.com/ogamis-curse/crazy-d-beat-bounce http://img705.imageshack.us/img705/6465/lonewolfandcubbycognati.jpg This is a new one I started a while ago but never really got round to finishing until yesterday. Its heavily influenced by Old Skool Dnb/Jungle but with my own added flavour. A...

Re: OH NO Not the Dreaded "Which Monitors" Question again!!
Well, I've only just recently purchased them and I have used them on one track so far. Tbh, I think they found fantastic. Yeh, they are Rokit 6s. The highs are particularly good. I toyed with getting the Mackie MR5s; it just came down to what I could find a better deal on. I might consider the Rock...

Re: OH NO Not the Dreaded "Which Monitors" Question again!!
i can assure you the Yamaha HS80Ms aren't harsh or fatiguing. the HS80s are still on my list the HS series do get a lot of high praise online but how much better would they be than the Behringer B3021Ps I already have? (the Behringer Truth series has actually gotten some pretty rave reviews over th...

One other option I'm considering is the Mackie MR5s
Has anyone used or owned these?

Re: OH NO Not the Dreaded "Which Monitors" Question again!!
I've read a lot of bad reports of over hyped low end, & that they're not the best for mixing IE. they don't translate well to a domestic setup. Do you have the Rokit 6s, how are you finding your mixes on them?deanthomastunes wrote:Nothing wrong with my KRK Rokit 6 G2s

OH NO Not the Dreaded "Which Monitors" Question again!!
I'm using a set of Behringer B2031Ps powered by a Marantz Integrated Amplifier (I know I should really be using a proper power amp with these) & while they have served me well enough over the past 3 or 4 years or so, I think its time to get a set of Active Monitors. Mixing will be the main purpose f...

Re: Focusrite scarlett 8i6 or NI Komplete Audio 6??
After a few gigs on stage I can say I'm very happy with the Scarlett. I have an older machine (core 2 duo 4 gigs ram) so I'm sure newer stuff could achieve even lower latency. Still 6.0 ms is perfectly fine for me. Both units seem to have the same available ins/outs. They come with different softwa...

Re: Focusrite scarlett 8i6 0r NI Komplete Audio 6??
OK so this thread was originally about deciding between the Focusrite Saffire 6 & the MOTU Micorbook. But through some more investigation/googling :) I've narrowed it down to the Focusrite Scarlett 8i6 & NI's Komplete Audio 6 because I think these reasonably new audio interfaces would offer more of ...

Re: Focusrite saffire 6 or Motu Microbook??
Ok so I'm torn now between the Microbook & the Scarlett 8i6 :) I have the microbook and it comes with an adapter for using XLR. I bring it to work when I need to record teachers for a book we are working on. The sound is great and the damn thing is metal and is light as a feather. The version of cue...

Re: Focusrite saffire 6 or Motu Microbook??
Thanks for the very detailed description of your setup Sub. I was intending to stick to a usb bus powered interface, the Scarlett 8i6 looks very close to the same size as the Saffire 6. Would you say its much more of a hassle having to plug the Scarlett in to power it, rather than doing it over usb?

Re: Focusrite saffire 6 or Motu Microbook??
Thanks for the input Sepp I really appreciate it. Unfortunately I cant demo them because well my local music store is a bit crap really & as far as I know doesn't stock any audio interfaces. So I generally have to go on reviews & whatever else I can find out on the net. For some reason there's very ...
