In many ways .... Realizing that even the most stupid daily product has to be made with some human involvement. Suppose that would be your job for live .... a life dedicated to toilet paper. The paper entered the factory on a giant roll and was then wind on a 1 meter roll of normal size thickness. I...

Tone Deft wrote: there is a definite limit to your hearing and it degrades with age. it depends on volume because it rolls off as the frequency goes up. put it this way, you will not ever no way hear 22kHz even at 1,000dB, you'd feel it first as your eyelashes burst into flames. Agreed. I dont expec...

I think this test is dependent how high you are willing to put the volume. On low and moderate volume I loose it already at 12-13 kHz. But if you bump up the volume moderately I go to 14-15 kHz. This is on high quality headphones. But if I put volume full I probably will get to something higher .......

You could consider something which is a better compromise. I did a degree in geophysics/seismology, which was interesting by itself and i ended up getting a good job. It is easy to get a good job these days with an old fashioned tech study. Because of the degree i learned the inside out of filters, ...

Focus on the composition and be a audio geek while you can .... I will solve my problems, with time .... Dont be overworked. before you know it you will loose sight of the reason it all started, to have fun and enjoy the stuff. I wouldnt have mind to discover Live at version 1.0 without having a fam...

I used to play guitar. but even after ten years i was not completely satisfied, so stopped. i really enjoy live and to experiment with sounds and to put as much expression into a simple tap of a pad or turn of a knob. Since velocity is part of the signal I am trying to make some sound effects respon...

I will have a look at PD, but the reality is that I have too much to learn about live at this point, so it is good to know the limitation and what the next level would be, but I cannot spend more than an hour a days on this (6 month old babygirl, not the right moment to dig into PD/Max etc) thanks f...

Forge thanks for replying.

Yes, that's exactly what I want. Is that a strange request?

I can do something similar by using the velocity mapper of the rack and mixing between two devices, but this is less flexible.

I thought this would be easy!

But actually do not know how to do this .. or can be done at all. I want my first knob on a midi rack device to respond to velocity of the incoming midi ..... The problem with the midi tool is that if I change a note velocity it still picks up the note on message ofcourse. Isn't this a trivial thing...

What Music system do you use at home (not in studio)

I have a nice studio set-up with genelec 8030's. I am not a big audio fan in terms of knowing the ins and outs of the newest amplifiers and speakers. I actually do not listen to music that often in the house, except for the studio or in the car. I get bored with those audio hi-fi mags as well, but v...
